How To Make A Video With Photos And Music

Photography.

If you want to create any type of engaging multimedia video content—whether it be to sell a product, promote a project, share your vacation, send an e-invitation, or share any other type of experience—you need to use an editing program that is compatible with multiple media formats. It's possible that you believe that in order to combine different kinds of media into a single video and customize your content, you have to either download a substantial editing app or shell out a significant amount of cash for a potent piece of computer software.

On the other hand, it is possible to create all of the multimedia videos you require without spending any money and doing so online. Using the free online tool Kapwing, I am going to walk you through the steps that need to be taken in order to create a video that contains photos, music, and individualized text. Because of this, you can create and edit all of your content in a single location using your desktop computer, mobile phone, or tablet! You will only need to be familiar with the following four steps:

  • Find Your Videos, Pictures, and Music
  • Upload Your Videos to Kapwing
  • Add Your Text, Pictures, and Music
  • Publish and Make It Available for Download!

Step 1: Find Your Videos, Pictures, and Music

Before you start making your video, you will need to have a general idea of where you can find the videos, photos, and/or music that you intend to use in it. If you are using videos, photos, or music that were obtained from an online source such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or Google Images, all you need to do is navigate to the page that contains the video, photo, or music that you want to use! It will be necessary for you to copy the URL associated with each of your online files; therefore, it will be most convenient for you to have each page open in its own tab.

If you are going to use videos, photos, or songs that you have previously recorded yourself and saved on your device, you need to make sure that you can find them in the file browser! It is also recommended that you make a folder in your file browser in which you can organize your media files. This is especially important if you plan to use a significant number of files in your project. Because of this, the process of uploading files will be simplified and made to run more smoothly.

Step 2: Upload Your Videos to Kapwing

The process of uploading videos to Kapwing is equally uncomplicated! To begin, navigate to Kapwing.com and click the button labeled "Get Started." Following this link will take you to the Kapwing Studio, which is where you will find all of the photo and video editing tools that Kapwing has to offer consolidated into one place.

To upload a video from your desktop, mobile device, or tablet, click the "Click to upload" button and then use the file browser to navigate to the location of the video you want to edit. You can also find the video in the file manager on your computer and then dragged it into the Studio window!

If you want to upload a video that you discovered on the internet, you should look for the field that says "Paste an image or video URL" and click on it. Now, find the video that you want to upload, right-click its URL, and select "Copy" from the menu that appears. Select "Paste" when you are back in the Kapwing Studio (or simply tap the URL field again on a mobile device if you are editing on a mobile device). Your video will be uploaded to the Studio via the Kapwing platform.

To include additional videos in your multimedia video project, select "Add Scene" from the menu located on the left side of the window. After adding a new scene, you will need to click on it and then select "Upload" from the bottom menu of the toolbar. You can now upload videos by using the file browser, dragging and dropping, or pasting a link, just like you did when you uploaded your first video!

Step 3: Add Your Text, Pictures, and Music

This is the part where you get to have fun! Let's start with some photos, shall we? Choose a scene that already has an uploaded video in it if you want a photo to be superimposed on top of your video. Now, either pick "Upload" from the toolbar that's located at the bottom of the screen, or simply drag and drop your image into the Studio. You have the ability to edit your photo in addition to resizing, rotating, and repositioning it to make it appear exactly how you want it to! During the entirety of the scene that you have chosen, the image will persistently keep its current position. De-select all of the layers, then choose "Timeline" from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. This will cause it to only appear during the portion of the scene that you specify. You have the ability to modify the length of each scene layer as well as its position in this section. If you want an image to appear in more than one scene, you can easily make that happen by copying and pasting it from one scene to the next.

Let us now move on to the music! After deselecting all of the layers, go to the bottom of the toolbar and select "Audio." You can upload your music using the same methods that you used to upload your videos in the Add Audio window. These methods include using your file browser, dragging and dropping files, or pasting a link (such as a link to a music or lyric video on YouTube!). After the music has been imported, you will have the ability to change the start time of the track, trim it, and adjust the volume. Within the Timeline, you can continue to make adjustments to the timing of your Audio.

Text can also be easily added and edited with little effort. Simply clicking on the scene that needs text, deselecting all other layers, and then selecting "Text" from the bottom section of the toolbar will get you started. To enter text and modify its font, color, style, and arrangement, select "Edit" from the bottom or side toolbar. This will bring up a menu where you can make these changes. By clicking and dragging the corners of a text box that you have already created, you can rotate, resize, and move it after it has been created. If you want your text to stand out even more, select "Animations" from the toolbar at the bottom of your screen.

Step 4: Publish and Make It Available for Download!

After your video has been edited to a point where you are satisfied with it, it is ready to be processed. Simply select "Publish" from the menu that appears in the upper-right hand corner of the window. The processing of your video will be handled mechanically by Kapwing, and it will be available for download in a very short amount of time.

Click "Download" on the right side of the screen once the processing of your video has been completed. If you're using a mobile device, head on over to the App Store and look for the tiny Kapwing mobile app to download. The software does not require a login; its sole function is to assist you in downloading videos. To save your video to your iPhone, open the Kapwing application, copy the URL of the page from which you wish to download it, and then paste it into the appropriate field within the application. Your video is now ready to be sent out to potential viewers.
