The legendary Kumkumadi Thailam is an ancient and traditional Ayurvedic skin oil formulation by the Ashwini Kumaras, who are regarded as the royal physicians of the Gods and are very literally made of saffron or “Kumkuma” together with 25 other ingredients. This oil, which is applied to the skin every night, is said to as the mystical elixir from the Gods themselves and is said to make the skin sparkle like gold. The Kumkumadi Tailam, which is literally translated as “saffron oil” in English, is renowned for its luminous qualities. For as long as you use it, this mixture is known for its usage in regenerating and renewing skin cells, brightening the skin, and giving it a youthful, healthy aspect. The Vedic twin gods of healing known as the Ashwini Kumars are credited with creating this Thailam. When people need help, the Ashwini Kumara twins Dasara and Nasatya Deva, the younger twin and the deity of medicine, respectively, emerge in the sky in a golden chariot. They are said to carry heavenly herbs and remedies that will benefit humanity. One such concoction is the Kumkumadi Tailam. The classic Ayurvedic texts Ashtanga Hridayam and Bhaisajya Ratnavalli have a step-by-step technique for using this oil.

It possesses cell-regenerating qualities that lessen skin discoloration, scarring, and uneven textures. Our saffron comes from the Kashmir valley, where it is grown in its natural environment.
