What to Expect

Yoga is a holistic and therapeutic form of exercise that has great physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. It combines various poses and breathing techniques to create a balanced life for the body and soul.

A 200 hour YTT in Rishikesh can teach you how to design and execute classes that are safe and beneficial for your students. You will also learn about yoga philosophy and anatomy, helping you become a well-rounded teacher.

You should be prepared for a culture shock. India can be a bit chaotic, with cows, beeping scooters, and hordes of people tripping over each other. But you will adjust quickly and find the magic of Rishikesh. The accommodations are simple and the food may be intense at first but there are plenty of cafes around to get your Western fix.

Accommodation

The best yoga schools have been able to establish their name in the market with years of consistent work and commitment. They are able to maintain a tranquil and wholesome atmosphere for their students and offer accommodation that is conducive to learning. Ensure that the place you choose for your training is safe and has good reviews from past students.

During the course, you’ll learn various techniques of teaching yoga to different students. You’ll also get an understanding of anatomy and physiology, so that you can better explain the benefits of the practice. You’ll also learn how to design your own classes and work with students of varying abilities. The program will also include the basics of ayurvedic principles and nutrition. You must attend every class to complete the course, so it is important that you give advance notice if you’re going to be absent.

Food

All meals are provided throughout your stay, ensuring that you get all the nutrients you need for your yoga practice and the energy to sustain your health. You will enjoy a variety of delicious, healthy, and organic foods that are served on the premises of our ashram.

The food is sattvic, which means it is good for the body and soul. It will help you grow stronger and healthier, allowing you to continue your yoga journey after the course is over.

During the training, you will learn meditation, Pranayama, Mantra chanting, Shatkriya, Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy, and Yoga Teaching Methodology. You will also be introduced to the esoteric subjects of Kundalini Yoga and Reiki. You will have the opportunity to experience a complete holistic shift in yourself – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Course Content

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to master alignment and adjustment techniques for a flawless yoga practice. They will also learn meditation to keep the mind fit and healthy, just like the body.

The curriculum is curated by experts and designed keeping beginner yoga practitioners in mind. It covers a variety of yoga styles and includes basic ayurvedic concepts.

It is essential for yoga teachers to have a good understanding of anatomy and physiology. This will help them explain the benefits and contraindications of various yoga poses. They must also be able to offer suggestions and advice to their students. This is why a minimum of 55 hours must be dedicated to the study of yoga theory and practice. This is also called the “contact hour requirement.” The remaining 75 hours can be divided into five educational categories.

Teaching Methodology

This RYT-200 course is the first step to becoming an accomplished yoga teacher. It covers all aspects of the ancient science including yogic philosophy, asanas, pranayama, meditation and teaching methodology. The RYT-200 also helps you discover and develop your spiritual side and create a healthy connection between your body, mind, and soul.

You’ll also learn about physiology and anatomy, which will help prevent injuries during your yoga classes. This includes the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine and nervous systems, organs, and chakras. You’ll also be able to master adjustment and alignment techniques to ensure students get the most out of their practice. This will make them feel safe and secure in their bodies, allowing them to focus on the practice at hand. This is one of the most important aspects of any yoga class.
