Amazon Fire TV Stick User Manual
Connect your Amazon Fire TV Stick
Connect one end of the USB cable to your Fire TV Stick and the other to the AC adapter. Connect your Fire TV Stick to the HDMI port on your TV, then plug the power adapter into a nearby electrical outlet. Turn on your TV and then select the appropriate HD MI input.
Use the included HDMI extender to improve Wi-Fi and remote performance, or if you have trouble mounting your Fire TV Stick to an HDMI port on your TV.
Turn on your Alexa Voice Remote
- Open the back of the remote control and insert the supplied batteries.
- After pairing your Alexa Voice Remote, follow the on-screen instructions to control the power and volume on your TV.
Complete the installation on the screen
Using your Alexa Voice Remote, follow the on-screen instructions to select your language, select your Wi-Fi network, and register your device.
Note: If your Wi-Fi network is password protected, have your Wi-Fi network password handy to connect your Fire TV Stick to the Internet. If your network is hidden, select the Join another network tile in the list. If necessary, enter your network password using the on-screen keyboard.
Wi-Fi tips and troubleshooting
- For the best Wi-Fi performance, use the 5 GHz bands on your wireless router if available.
- If you see a lock icon, your Wi-Fi network requires a password, so make sure you have it available.
- If you need help finding your Wi-Fi password, go to www.amazon.eom.au/help/wifi
- Make sure your internet is working properly. Rebooting your router and modem resolves most Wi-Fi network problems.
- Do not place your wireless router or Fire TV Stick in a cabinet, as this may affect Wi-Fi signal strength.
- Some Wi-Fi problems can be improved by connecting the included H DM I extender.
Remote pairing
Having problems with your remote control? Unplug your Fire TV device from the power cord or adapter, then plug it back in. Wait for the splash screen to appear. Remove and replace the remote control batteries. The remote should automatically pair with your device.
