Carrot Farming in India with Complete Information

Carrot Farming .

Carrots are produced to be eaten raw. Carrot is a very popular vegetable crop. Its root part is used by humans for food, and the upper part of the root is used to feed animals. Its raw leaves are also used to make vegetables. Many properties are found in carrots, which are used to make pickles, marmalade, juices, salads, vegetables and carrot pudding in large quantities.

It is also more beneficial for increasing appetite and kidneys. Vitamin A is the most present in it. Along with this, a sufficient amount of vitamins B, D, and E, are also found in it. In addition, carrots contain an element called beta-carotene, which is more beneficial in cancer control. Earlier carrots were only red in colour, but in the present time, there are wide improved varieties of carrots.

Planting Carrot

Carrot can be cultivated in any fertile soil. But in sandy loam soil, a high yield of carrot is obtained. Its cultivation requires an average temperature. Therefore, it is sown in a cold climate, during which the temperature rises to 10 degrees, which is considered very good for the seeds. Carrot plants develop well at 25 degrees Celsius, and the size and colour of carrot fruits are pretty significant.

Field Preparation

Before harvesting carrots, the field is well ploughed deeply. Due to this, the remains of the old crop present in the area are destroyed. After pushing, the field is pulverised by applying water, due to which the soil of the field becomes moist. Planting a rotavator is done two to three slant ploughing on wet land. Due to this, the lumps of soil present in the soil of the field break, and the ground becomes friable. The field is levelled by placing a pad in the friable soil. Also, for field preparation Powertrac euro 50 tractor model is excellent.

Fertiliser Amount

For an excellent crop yield, it is necessary to give the proper amount of fertiliser in the field. For this, after the first ploughing of the area, up to 30 carts of old cow dung manure have to be given per hectare. Apart from this, 30 kg potash and 30 kg nitrogen have to be sprayed per hectare as chemical fertiliser at the time of the last ploughing of the field. This results in higher yields.

Sowing Method

Carrot seeds are sown in the form of sources. For this, seeds are sprayed on flat land. About 6 to 8 kg of seeds are required in a one-hectare field. Before planting these seeds in the area, treat them. After sprinkling the seeds in the field, the field is lightly ploughed. Due to this, the source goes some depth in the ground. After this, the buns are prepared in the form of beds through the plough. Then water is applied to the crop. For better germination, Eicher 485 tractor model is best and it comes in a reasonable price range.

Irrigation

The first irrigation of the carrot crop is done immediately after planting the seeds. After this, irrigation is done twice a week in the beginning, to maintain the moisture in the field, and when the seeds come out of the ground, then water them once a week. Then a month, when the seed plant starts to form, during that time, the plants have to be given less water. After this, when the plant's roots are entirely elongated, the amount of water has to be increased.

Weed Control

It is essential to control weeds in carrot crops. For this, weed control medicines are used when ploughing the field. Even after this, when weeds appear in the area, remove them from the field by weeding and hoeing. During this, if the roots of the plants are visible, then the soil is applied to them.

Harvesting

It takes 3 to 4 months for the carrot crop to be ready. Due to this, farmer brothers can get production up to three to four times a year by cultivating carrots. This also improves their financial condition. When the carrot crop is entirely ready, during that time, the harvest is excavated. Water is applied to the field before digging, so the carrot easily comes out of the soil. After digging carrots, they are cleaned thoroughly with water and sent to sell in the market.
