Huawei organized the Huawei Jordan Media Forum on December 5 in Amman, bringing together senior leadership from key media organizations across Jordan to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to digital transformation in the media sector. The forum focused on the transformative roadmap towards digital intelligence by leveraging advanced technologies in areas such as networks, cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, and ICT solutions. These initiatives align closely with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) and its National Digital Transformation Strategy & Implementation Plan (2021-2025). These plans emphasize improving digital infrastructure, developing digital skills, enhancing the regulatory framework, and advancing e-government services.

The event’s opening keynote was delivered by Ammar Tobba, the VP of Public Affairs & Communications for Huawei Middle East & Central Asia (ME&CA). He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in strengthening Jordan’s ICT ecosystem. Tobba underscored the urgent need for the media sector to embrace intelligent transformation, stressing the importance of nurturing local ICT talent to support the country’s transition to a knowledge-based and sustainable digital economy.

Mr. Adam Zhang, CEO of Huawei Jordan, also addressed the forum, emphasizing the rapid growth of Jordan’s digital economy driven by its young, tech-savvy population, high internet penetration, and supportive government policies. He explained that digital transformation in Jordan has led to the successful integration of digital technologies, strategies, and innovations across various sectors. Zhang also highlighted Huawei’s commitment to supporting Jordan’s digital intelligence through innovative ICT solutions, particularly in the media sector. Huawei aims to enhance content creation, distribution, and management capabilities while supporting sustainable growth in media organizations.

The forum featured a full day of discussions, including keynotes and presentations in the morning and interactive workshops in the afternoon. The morning session addressed the digital journey of the media industry, with participation from government officials, key opinion leaders, and ICT experts. In the afternoon, Huawei regional and local experts led three workshops based on pre-event survey findings that identified key pain points for media businesses. These workshops explored common challenges faced by media organizations and examined development opportunities, ultimately concluding with the creation of a collaborative roadmap that prioritized these organizations’ needs.

Mohammed Sarrif, Huawei’s Regional Director for Digital Industries, presented a digital strategy for media organizations, focusing on intelligent office campus transformation. The presentation introduced technologies and solutions aimed at simplifying office networks with optical and wireless capabilities. It also highlighted innovations in building automation for energy efficiency, smart office solutions to improve collaboration, and AI-powered security systems for enhanced safety. Local experts from Huawei Jordan also detailed how these technologies can be implemented for efficient operation and management.

Huawei also showcased a range of advanced technologies for media organizations, such as smart campus solutions, Wi-Fi networks, cloud solutions, automation, and cybersecurity tools, all integrated with AI capabilities. Huawei experts introduced solutions including Object Storage Service (OBS), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Cloud Search Service (CSS), Media Processing Centre (MPC), and Video on Demand (VOD) services. These solutions reflect Huawei’s commitment to sustainability, with green data center technologies and energy-efficient infrastructure designed to help media organizations reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining high performance.

As Jordan continues to leverage digital tools and strategies to enhance the quality of services across all sectors, Huawei remains committed to supporting the country’s digital economy. The company’s initiatives align with Jordan’s national priorities, focusing on developing infrastructure, skills, and regulations while advancing e-government services. Huawei’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives also play a vital role in this process, helping to nurture the next generation of ICT leaders in Jordan.
