Eleport Acquires TurboVolt to Enhance Operations in Croatia and Slovenia

business .

Public electric vehicle (EV) charging network Eleport is making significant strides in its expansion efforts by entering the Croatian and Slovenian markets through the strategic acquisition of TurboVolt, an Austrian-based Charge Point Operator. Eleport, known for developing and operating over 800 EV chargers across the Baltics and Poland, has set ambitious goals to deploy 10,000 DC-powered fast charging points across Central Eastern Europe (CEE) by 2030. Notably, Eleport’s chargers are powered exclusively by energy derived from 100% renewable sources, which are certified by the European Union.

With this acquisition, Eleport solidifies its position as the largest EV charging operator in the Baltics and the fourth largest in Poland, effectively extending its network coverage to six countries. The initial phase of Eleport's expansion involves the rollout of 17 high-powered EV charging hubs located at Supernova and SES shopping centres in Croatia and Slovenia. Each of these hubs will feature up to 12 user-friendly, high-speed chargers capable of delivering up to 300 kW of power per socket. The first hubs in Croatia will be launched in the cities of Zadar and Zagreb, while Ljubljana will host the first Slovenian hub.

Jakub Miler, CEO of Eleport, emphasized the significance of this acquisition in the company’s long-term vision, stating, “This acquisition is another pivotal step in Eleport’s long-term plan of becoming the leading EV charging network in CEE. TurboVolt’s strategy and goals align perfectly with ours, and I am excited to work with their team to accelerate the deployment of a reliable, fast-charging infrastructure that meets our customers’ expectations.”

Founded in 2022, TurboVolt has quickly positioned itself as a key player in the EV charging sector, focusing on installing high-powered charging hubs across Austria and Central Eastern Europe at prime retail locations. Each TurboVolt hub is equipped with state-of-the-art fast chargers, offering multiple sockets and payment options, all powered by renewable energy.

Anthony Hinde, CEO of TurboVolt, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, emphasizing the strong alignment of visions between TurboVolt and Eleport. He stated, “Joining forces with Eleport aligns perfectly with our vision of expanding access to sustainable transportation solutions. Together, we will provide market-leading solutions for high-speed charging in CEE markets that urgently need solutions.” Hinde's remarks underline the commitment of both companies to enhance the availability and reliability of EV charging infrastructure, thereby supporting the transition to sustainable transportation in Central Eastern Europe. The partnership aims to address the growing demand for efficient charging options and contribute to a more eco-friendly future in the region.

This strategic expansion not only enhances Eleport's footprint in the EV charging landscape but also reinforces its commitment to promoting sustainable transportation solutions in the region. As demand for electric vehicles continues to rise, Eleport’s initiative to establish a comprehensive and reliable charging infrastructure will play a crucial role in supporting the growing EV market in Central Eastern Europe. By leveraging TurboVolt’s existing network and expertise, Eleport aims to deliver top-tier charging experiences that meet the evolving needs of EV users, ultimately contributing to a greener future for the region.
