How to Save A Diploma Thesis in PDF?

pdf,thesis .

Why should you save your thesis in PDF format before submitting it to the university and for printing?

At least two reasons can be given.

First of all, a work saved in a PDF version will not change its appearance, i.e. it will not fall apart when you submit such a work for printing.

This is very important because the person who will print your work may have a different version of Word than you and the printing work may completely disassemble it, change page numbers, etc. The safest way is to save it in a PDF version, then nothing will change for sure.

The second reason is plagiarism - it turns out that the same work sent for checking by the JSA program in the PDF version will have a plagiarism rate several percent lower than the same work in doc version

It is not a big difference, because it is about 2-3%, but sometimes it may determine plagiarism. Therefore, if you can, submit a PDF version of your work to be checked in JSA.

Methods to save your work in PDF

Let's get down to specifics, i.e. how to save the work in PDF.

1. Saving PDF in Word

The best way is (if you have newer versions of Word, of course) to do this by using the program when saving your work.

Once we check that our work is complete and ready, the page numbers match, all lists are up to date, everything is in its place, then:

  • Select the file,
  • Write down,
  • When the window to save your work pops up - save as type - PDF selected here.
  • Click - save and it's ready.

In addition to the Word file, of course, we also generate a PDF file. This is the simplest and safest way to save your work in PDF.

2. Use a PDF converter to save your work

The second method is to save your work using a free online PDF converter such as SwifDoo PDF Online Converter.

Enter the phrase: convert Word to PDF into the search engine.

We see a lot of different, free PDF converters. Each of them works similarly, we upload a file in the doc version, and in a moment we receive the same converted file in PDF version. However, it is not entirely clear where such work sent for conversion may end up.

What are the benefits of saving a thesis in PDF?

By saving the file in PDF, you can be sure how your work will be printed and how it will look, no matter who opens it on what computer. PDF files are uneditable, so nothing in your work will be rearranged, deleted or replaced. While a program such as SwifDoo PDF can make a PDF file editable.

Here's why you should still save your thesis in PDF format:

The viewer will see your thesis on as many pages as you do

If you save your thesis in PDF, you can be sure that nothing is left out. Regardless of the file reading program, your document will look the same. A .doc thesis may look different depending on the version of Microsoft Word the file receiver uses.

The font will display correctly

Would you like the receiver to display the font you have selected? Thesis in PDF is the best choice.

How to edit a PDF file? The PDF files can be formatted and edited. The most important thing is to choose the right PDF tools that will meet our expectations.

No one will be able to modify your document

Your thesis may pass through the hands of many people. Recruitment is often a multi-stage process. You would certainly prefer that no one accidentally (or not) makes changes to the document you created. By saving your thesis in PDF format, you can be sure that this will not happen.

PDF files are less susceptible to viruses than other formats

There is probably no need to explain this issue - recruiters open many documents a day and undoubtedly prefer secure thesis formats.

Print of diploma thesis

Files to digital printing house are best delivered in the form of a PDF file. PDF is the industry standard in the printing industry. It can be obtained from any modern word processing program (i.e. Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Write, Apple Pages, Google Docs, etc.).

The PDF format guarantees that your work will look identical when printed as it does on your screen. In the case of other formats, the page division, table of contents, page numbers may not match, charts, illustrations, etc. may be moved.

The main reason for these problems are differences between versions of text editing programs and differences in fonts installed on individual computers.
