Dubai — Residents in the UAE now have an enhanced solution to improve their home security with the launch of the Ring Battery Video Doorbell. This next-generation device takes Ring’s widely popular doorbells to the next level, offering additional features such as head-to-toe HD video and easier, do-it-yourself installation. The new Battery Video Doorbell also boasts a battery life that lasts up to 23 percent longer than its predecessor when using commonly configured settings. As with all Ring doorbells and cameras, this model includes advanced motion detection with customizable motion zones, live alerts, and the ability to converse with visitors in real-time through two-way audio.
Mohammad Meraj Hoda, the Vice President of Business Development – Emerging Markets at Ring, expressed excitement over the new launch: “We are excited to introduce the next generation of our Battery Video Doorbell, designed to give homeowners peace of mind with a wider view and more convenient installation. This newest addition redefines the standard for battery-powered doorbells, giving customers even more flexibility and versatility.”
The Battery Video Doorbell’s setup is straightforward and customer-friendly. Users simply need to download the free Ring app on their iOS or Android devices. Once the app is installed, customers are guided step by step through the installation process. This includes opening the app, selecting ‘Set Up a Device,’ scanning the QR code from the packaging, and following the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. This seamless process ensures that users can install the doorbell on their own without the need for professional help.
A key feature of the Battery Video Doorbell is the ability to customize motion zones, allowing users to monitor specific areas around their front door while excluding regions that may cause unnecessary alerts, such as sidewalks or passing vehicles. This customization helps to reduce false alarms, making the system more efficient. The doorbell also provides a comprehensive, head-to-toe HD video stream, ensuring a complete view of visitors and packages. With built-in color night vision, it guarantees clear video even in low-light conditions, enhancing security at all hours of the day or night.
In addition, the doorbell is fully integrated with Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant. This integration enables users to ask Alexa, “Show me the front door,” which will prompt Alexa to display live footage from the doorbell camera. Customers can then interact with visitors or delivery personnel directly through the system. For those who want to store and access video footage, Ring Protect subscription plans provide cloud storage options. This allows users to keep video recordings of important events for up to 180 days and share clips as needed. The footage is also erased automatically at the end of the chosen storage period for privacy and security.
In line with its expanding service offerings, Ring has recently introduced updated subscription plans under the Ring Home umbrella, offering three tiers: Home Basic, Home Standard, and the newly launched Home Premium. These plans provide added benefits, such as the ability to save, share, and download video recordings from detected motion events for up to 180 days. One standout feature, Video Preview Alerts, allows customers to view a brief video clip preview of motion alerts. This feature is included in all subscription plans. Additionally, the Ring Home Standard and Premium plans offer the Doorbell Calls feature, which functions like a video call whenever someone rings the doorbell. Ring Home Standard also provides Extended Live View, enabling users to watch their camera feed live for up to 30 minutes. For those who opt for the Ring Home Premium tier, Continuous Live View is available, allowing customers to watch live footage for longer periods, even with 24/7 recording enabled. This feature is compatible with Ring devices like the Stick Up Cam, Stick Up Cam Pro, Indoor Camera (2nd Gen), and Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera.
The Ring Battery Video Doorbell, available in a stylish satin nickel finish, will be available for purchase online and through selected retailers across the UAE starting in early December 2024. The device is priced at Dh399, making it an accessible solution for homeowners looking to enhance their security. Additionally, the Ring subscription plans are available via Ring.com at the following prices: Basic ($4.99 monthly or $49.99 annually), Home Standard ($10 monthly or $100 annually), and Home Premium ($20 monthly or $200 annually). With these subscription options, customers can tailor their service plans to meet their needs while enjoying added benefits and features designed to offer peace of mind and improved security for their homes.
