Victoria University Integrates Digital and Campus Infrastructure for Enhanced Connectivity
Victoria University has undertaken a strategic restructuring by consolidating its digital and campus infrastructure functions under a single department. Stuart Hildyard, formerly in charge of the university's transformation office, has been appointed as the head of this newly formed department, holding the titles of Chief Digital Officer and Executive Director of Campus Services.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Hildyard shared his excitement about leading the team in 2024 and tackling the challenges associated with merging digital and campus services. The move is part of an "enterprise-wide internal initiative" aimed at resetting and refining the organization to meet the university's future needs.
A university spokesperson explained that the initiative is designed to modernize digital and campus operating models, emphasizing customer-centric services for students and staff. The integration of digital and physical infrastructure functions aims to enable modern technology infrastructure, enhance the user experience, and reshape the built environment to align with these objectives.
Hildyard reports to Lisa Line, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Enterprise and Digital, who retains the position of the most senior technology executive at the university. The restructuring also involves Lara Carton taking on Hildyard's previous role as the leader of the transformation project officer. Carton, who joined the university from Victoria’s Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry, and Regions in October the previous year, is spearheading future-focused initiatives aimed at prioritizing student success and building on institutional strengths.
