AppliedAI’s LWM Sets a New Benchmark, Exceeding ChatGPT and Leading LLMs
AppliedAI has unveiled the first results of its innovative Opus 1 Alpha Large Work Model (LWM) and Work Knowledge Graph (WKG), demonstrating its superiority over all evaluated Large Language Models (LLMs) in terms of complex workflow generation and optimization across key benchmarks. These breakthroughs are a part of the company’s cutting-edge automation platform, Opus.com, developed in Abu Dhabi and now being deployed to its foundational customers.
Opus.com is a pioneering generative AI workflow platform designed to automate critical processes in regulated industries, including banking, healthcare, life sciences, and insurance. By doing so, it reduces operating costs and minimizes human error. The platform delivers highly auditable, transparent, and consistent processes that are essential for industries subject to strict regulatory requirements. Through supervised automation, Opus workflows ensure that the integrity of business operations is maintained while also enhancing operational efficiency.
Unveiled at AppliedAI’s keynote at Palantir’s inaugural DevCon in November 2024 in Palo Alto, California, the Opus Large Work Model (LWM) introduces a new paradigm for AI-driven transformation. This model allows organizations and governments to achieve substantial cost reductions without sacrificing accuracy or process quality. Opus enables users to create industrial-grade, business-tailored workflows in under 15 minutes for the majority of complex business processes, positioning Opus.com as the ideal frictionless platform for enterprises to quickly adopt AI in their mission-critical mid- and back-office processes.
Opus.com is the latest innovation from AppliedAI, the UAE’s largest private-sector AI company, developed in collaboration with Palantir, McKinsey, and Metalab. Since its founding in 2021, AppliedAI has become the UAE’s largest exporter of AI to the U.S., working closely with the UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. The company raised $42 million in its largest-ever early-stage AI funding round, supported by investors such as G42, Accrete Capital, McKinsey, Bessemer Ventures, Metalab, Plug and Play, Apeiron, and A.R.M. Holding.
The Opus platform works by seamlessly orchestrating AI workflows with human expert reviewers. This synergy enables industries with zero tolerance for error to move faster, improve accuracy, and enhance profitability. Opus has been shown to reduce all-in costs by 50%, cut turnaround times by 80%, and improve accuracy by 10% when compared to traditional Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service providers.
AppliedAI’s mission is to leverage the combined power of AI and expert human oversight to free skilled knowledge workers from repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on more impactful work that maximizes economic value and operating leverage. The company has been rolling out Opus AI bootcamps since early November 2024. These bootcamps, which are fully booked until April 2025, provide intensive three-day training sessions where AppliedAI experts help customer organizations set up their Opus accounts and co-create the first 10 workflows, enabling rapid AI adoption across various business functions such as operations, data governance, compliance, legal, and IT.
AppliedAI’s solutions are already trusted by large organizations worldwide, including major hospital chains like M42, which operates over 450 facilities across 26 countries, America’s largest personal injury law firm Morgan & Morgan, and Qinecsa, a leader in drug safety solutions.
Arya Bolurfrushan, CEO and Founder of AppliedAI, expressed his pride in the company’s achievements, stating, “Opus democratizes access to industrial-grade, responsible AI workflows for highly regulated industries with high cost-of-error processes, all while ensuring accuracy, auditability, and security. I am incredibly proud of our team’s relentless work ethic and grateful to our partners for their support.”
Anuraag Bahl, Head of Commercial AIP at Palantir, also praised the partnership: “We are proud to collaborate with AppliedAI. The launch of Opus’s Large Work Model at DevCon showcased how AI engineering can deliver secure workflows at scale. By eliminating backend complexity, AIP enables AppliedAI to focus on what matters most: delivering secure AI applications at unprecedented speed.”
Brian Feinstein, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, added, “We are excited to partner with Arya and his team for our first investment in the UAE. AppliedAI is fulfilling the promise of AI by using technology to automate services and deliver tangible business results across a wide range of labor-intensive industries.”
As the UAE continues to emerge as a global hub for AI investment and research, AppliedAI is strategically aligned with the nation’s ambitious AI transformation goals. The company’s efforts are closely tied to the UAE’s national strategy to position the country as a leader in AI. AppliedAI was also invited to be a founding member of the US-UAE AI Task Force, a collaboration established by the US-UAE Business Council aimed at strengthening trade and business relations between the U.S. and the UAE.
