Djimon Hounsou and LAOLU to launch - Time to Heal - NFT collection on Binance
A digital artist series called "Time To Heal" will be exhibited on the Binance NFT Marketplace, which is the world's largest blockchain ecosystem and provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure. Djimon Honsou, a Beninese-American actor and model, and LÁOLÚ, a well-known Nigerian painter, will exhibit their digital artist series on the Binance NFT Marketplace.
This collaboration is a part of Binance Charity's NFT For Good Campaign, which encourages creators to use their art and creativity to take meaningful global action to address social and humanitarian issues in their communities.
LÁOLÚ, the Nigerian artist behind Beyoncé's Grammy-winning Lemonade body art, will be painting Djimon Hounsou's body. The actor, who played Korath the Pursuer in Marvel's blockbuster films Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel, will have his body painted by LÁOLÚ. It is planned to convert this photograph into a digital NFT version after it has been projected onto a physical canvas.
LÁOLÚ is a Nigerian performance and visual artist, singer, songwriter, and musician who also works as a human rights lawyer and activist. Taraji P. Henson, Lupita Nyong'o, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats, and Danielle Brooks are among the artists with whom she has worked. He is the source of inspiration for the Sacred Art of the Ori body ritual, which is performed in his honor.
It is anticipated that the NFT collection will debut on November 10, 2021, with proceeds being divided between the artists and the Djimon Hounsou Foundation, which will be administered by the Binance Charity.
In Djimon's words, "I feel a compelling need, an inherent obligation to give back to my continent, to my people, and to advocate for the concept of reconciliation and reconnection."
Continuing, LÁOLÚ stated that "there is so much we can accomplish when we work together." Through my work, I've always hoped to establish a link between the rest of the world and my Yoruba heritage. We're doing that on a large scale with this project, by sharing not only our own stories, but also the stories of the diaspora, all within the context of the digital environment."
As part of the 'Ask Me Anything' chat, Djimon and LÁOLÚ will appear on the Binance YouTube channel on November 9, 2021, to talk about non-financial tokens (NFTs), their entry into the crypto and blockchain space, and how NFTs can benefit African artists. CLICK HERE TO JOIN NOW.
According to Emmanuel BabaLÁOLÚa, Director of Binance Africa, "We are particularly excited to host creators of African descent because we recognize the tremendous opportunity that NFTs and blockchain technology bring to the entire continent." It is critical that African creators have access to a larger platform that offers the best possible solutions for reaching a global audience as NFTs continue to revolutionize the world of digital art and culture ".....
"It is estimated that nearly four times as many people are enslaved today as were enslaved during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. It is well understood that blockchain technology is a powerful tool that can be used to address complex and heinous social issues – such as this – by combating corruption, increasing transparency, promoting financial liberty, and generating new revenue streams, such as the recent NFT boom. The ability to collaborate across industries, such as this one between Djimon, his foundation, Láol, and Binance, is critical to realizing this potential and propelling blockchain forward for the long term." Helen Hai, the Director of Binance Charity and Binance NFT, provides her thoughts.
Binance NFT is a well-known brand in the cryptocurrency community, with a market capitalization of $1 billion. Despite launching less than a month after its predecessor, Binance NFT quickly established itself as one of the world's most successful NFT platforms, generating 25 million BUSD in sales and selling more than 300,000 mystery boxes while onboarding 400 creators from around the world. Since its launch, Binance NFT has sold more than 900,000 mystery boxes and generated more than 103 million BUSD in total revenue, according to the company.
This means that both the Binance NFT Marketplace and the Binance.com website use the same account system. Existing Binance users can access and trade on the NFT marketplace using their existing Binance accounts, which are linked to their existing Binance accounts.
New users only need to register on Binance.com in order to be able to create or trade on the Binance NFT platform. Additionally, Binance NFT has added support for multi-chain NFT deposits and withdrawals, as well as multi-chain NFT transactions. Transfers of NFTs between the Binance Smart Chain and the Ethereum networks are now much simpler for users.
