Donald Trump is preparing to launch a new social networking site called 'Truth Social' in order to compete with Twitter and Facebook

Donald Trump, a former US president and business magnate, announced yesterday his plans to launch a new social network similar to Facebook and Twitter. Called 'Truth Social,' the initiative's stated goal is to "confront the tyranny of Big Tech."

According to a press release issued by one of his companies, the information contained in this report is correct.

Truth Social and TMGT were founded to "confront Big Tech's tyranny," Trump stated in a press release. "Our world is one in which the Taliban has a Twitter account, but your favorite president of the United States remains mute on the subject. I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts on Truth Social and fighting Big Tech in the near future, and I hope to do so soon "Trump made the statement.

As President, Trump has relied on Twitter to get around the mainstream media and exert control over the political narrative through a series of eruptive messages. A mob of former US President Barack Obama's supporters stormed the US Capitol building, killing several people, prompting Twitter and Facebook to suspend him two days after the incident.

Former President George W. Bush filed a lawsuit against the platforms, claiming that they were engaging in censorship and violating the First Amendment. He has been asserting for some time without providing evidence that the companies discriminate against the Right, an allegation that the companies have categorically denied on numerous occasions.

Despite the launch of a new social media platform, Trump hasn't abandoned his Twitter account completely. Earlier this month, the former president requested a preliminary injunction from a United States District Judge, which would allow him to keep his Twitter account active while his lawsuit against the social media platform is being resolved.

It was announced in November by the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMGT) that the social network would be launched, with a wider rollout expected in the first quarter of 2022. To form a new company led by Trump, TMGT has agreed to merge with Digital World Acquisition Group, a Miami-based Nasdaq-listed company, in order to create a new entity.
