GIGL launches Go Faster to provide users in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt with next day delivery

GIGL, Nigeria's largest technology-enabled logistics company, has launched a new delivery service, dubbed 'Go-Faster,' to meet the growing demand for faster delivery.

This development comes just months after the company began using electric delivery vans as part of its zero-carbon initiative, which was announced in May.

Following the launch of this service, selected cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt will be able to receive next-day deliveries from and to the country.

It was founded in 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria, and provides logistics services to private end users and merchants seeking a reliable channel for delivering goods and parcels throughout Nigeria, Ghana, and the United States.

After nearly a decade in business, the GIGL company has grown into a logistical behemoth in Nigeria, where it is renowned for providing prompt, secure, and reasonably priced service to its customers.

In addition to making contributions to industry advancements, the company uses technology to uphold its fundamental values.

All of the company's operations are centered on its mobile app, GIGGO, which was launched in 2019 to make cross-border logistics services more accessible to people living in the most remote areas.

As part of the agreement, GIGL's service centers in Nigeria will serve as charging stations for electric vehicles beginning in 2020. Jet Motor Company, an African automobile manufacturer, will benefit from the arrangement as well.

In addition to the existing "Go Standard" product, which is designed to deliver shipments within Nigeria in 24 hours rather than the previous 72 hours, the new "Go Faster" product will be available soon.

In an interview with Ripples Nigeria, Tunde Arogundade, Product Lead at Global Internet Gateways (GIGL), explained that the company is launching the product in response to customer demand for faster delivery modules, particularly from ecommerce merchants.

As a result of the high volume of traffic and high demand from customers, "we chose Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt as our launch cities," he explained. In response to customer demand, the product was expanded to include additional cities within Nigeria as well as Accra, Ghana."

Arogundade stated that GIGL's 'Go Faster' campaign will "enable small and medium-sized businesses to grow faster" by leveraging the ever-expanding GIGL network to reach customers both within and outside Nigeria.
