How to Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers and Headphones to One Phone
How to Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers and Headphones to One Phone
What is the best way to connect more than one set of headphones or a Bluetooth speaker to the same Android phone or iPhone? It turns out, however, that there are a couple of different ways to accomplish something similar using the Bluetooth connection.
The ability to connect multiple Bluetooth speakers or headphones is largely dependent on the equipment you have and the native Bluetooth version that your phone is capable of supporting.
Bluetooth v4.2, for example, only supports one-to-one device connections with a range of up to 30 metres. Bluetooth v5, on the other hand, extends the range of the connection to up to 120 metres and allows you to pair up to two devices at the same time with the same device. Some Bose speakers come with their own audio apps, which include the ability to pair two speakers at the same time in some cases. It should be noted, however, that not all businesses offer this convenience.
How to connect two Bluetooth headphones and speakers to one phone
In today's world, most phones have dual audio (on Android) and audio sharing (on iPhone) capabilities, which means that they can play audio from two different devices at the same time. iPhone 8 models and above support the Audio sharing feature, so unless you have an extremely old handset, the chances are that your phone should already have this feature built in. When pairing your Bluetooth headphones and speakers for the first time, the first step would be to try connecting them one at a time to your Bluetooth device until they are all connected.
A similar feature is available on Samsung Galaxy S8 series and later models, which is called Dual Audio and allows users to connect multiple speakers and headphones at the same time. Bluetooth Settings are where you'll find this information. Other users can experiment with this method if they have the appropriate equipment at their disposal:
- Android users must go to Bluetooth Settings and pair their Bluetooth headphones or speakers one at a time, starting with the most recent.
- Once connected, select Advanced Settings from the three-dot menu on the right side of the screen. If you haven't already, turn on the 'dual audio' option in the settings. Users should be able to connect to two devices at the same time as a result of this.
- Users who are running Android 10 or higher can access their connected Bluetooth devices by selecting Media from the Quick Panel and selecting both of the paired devices for audio output.
- iPhone users will need to go to Control Center to complete the process. Tap on the Airplay icon and choose either the paired wireless headphones or the paired wireless speakers to output audio at the same time. Selecting any of the headphones or speakers and deselecting it will prevent audio from being shared from that device onward.
