Windows 11 - Microsoft Lifting Restrictions from its System Requirements

WIndows, Microsoft.

Excited about Windows 11? Microsoft Lifting Restrictions from its System Requirements

No controversy; it’s been over a few years since we haven’t got a new operating system version from Microsoft. Well, it seems that all the wait will be over with the release of the Windows 11 operating system version. Well, this isn’t the single piece of news that made us thrilled. The fact is that you do not need any specific CPU to test the Windows 11 preview build before Windows 11 hits all the compatible hardware grounds.

As specified by Microsoft, users don’t require a TPM 2.0 chip or CPU to test the pre-launch version of Windows 11. Let’s get into the details of when you can expect Windows 11 to be available and what are the devices on which it can efficiently run.

Additionally, what are the requirements, and how can you access the Windows 11 preview build? Without further ado, let's get started with the details.

When did Microsoft Announce Microsoft 11 Release?

According to the professional of the Xbox One Repair near me, it was 25 July 2015 when Microsoft released Windows 10. Yeah, we have witnessed major security updates and feature inclusions with Windows 10. But, we have been waiting for a Windows upgrade much and much longer. Whereas Apple and Google have been releasing operating system upgrades almost every year, so the expectations are revolving around Microsoft, too.

However, Microsoft read our minds and announced the Windows 11 Insider program for existing Windows 10 users on 28 June 2021. Apart from providing such good news, Microsoft clarified all the requirements for testing the public beta version of the Windows 11 operating system. The advantage of the Windows Insider program is that developers or any tech enthusiasts can check the compatibility between Windows 11 and the hardware of the computers available to them.

On the other hand, Microsoft has kept all the requirements minimal for installing the Windows 11 preview build on existing PCs. Yet, Windows 11 looks fresher and more capable of withstanding difficult tasks than Windows 10. So, we can expect something blazing to hit the floor, and you need to install the Windows 11 preview build to check if it’s compatible with your PC.

System Requirements for Windows 11

Microsoft has kept the requirements same for the preview build and the original operating system for Windows 11. If you’re afraid to install Windows 11 preview build on your computer, then Microsoft can help you with the PC Health Check application. However, the support is currently disabled for now. But, Microsoft promises to bring it on pretty soon.

Now, talking about the system requirements for Windows 11 operating system, here’s what we have found from the official Windows 11 operating site from Microsoft. Check out the details carefully and inspect your PC before you sign up for the Windows Insider program.

Processor

The processor of the working computer for Windows 11 should have a frequency of 1GB or more. In addition, the processor should have a 64-bit architecture along with two or more cores or a System on a Chip.

RAM & Storage

Surprisingly, when Microsoft is drifting apart from the 4GB RAM preferences, it still prefers the RAM requirement of 4GB for Windows 11. Already, Microsoft has announced that it would stop offering 32-bit Windows 10 builds to OEM manufacturers. But, the minimum RAM requirement for supporting the windows 11 preview build is still 4GB.

Microsoft is definitely relaxing the system requirements, no doubt. In addition to this, the storage of the computer should be at least 64GB. That’s again lower than our expectations or the current trend.

Display

We are surprised to see all the requirements to be so minimalistic. The PC has to acquire a display measuring at least 9-inch or greater, along with an HD resolution of 720p.

System Firmware

The confirmed security firmware is UEFI, and that’s Secure Boot Capable.

TPM Specifications

Does your PC have a Trusted Platform Module of version 2? If yes, then you are free to test the Windows 11 preview build.

Finally, you should have an active and strong internet connection while downloading and installing the Windows 11 preview build. Additionally, you should keep your Microsoft account and its details handy for a hassle-free sign-up process.

Moreover…

Microsoft is confident enough to develop Windows 11 with the most minimum system requirements. The authority wants to try out the comprehensiveness of Windows 11 with all the available computer hardware equipment. The Insider program of Windows 11 seems to work for AMD Zen 2 and 8th Generation Intel processors.

Apart from these processors, Microsoft will have a close look at how AMD Zen 1 and 7th generation Intel processors are doing with Windows 11 beta or developer version. However, the overall testing doesn’t seem easy as the PC Health Check application is out of the site. And, users have to find the compatibility factor by reviewing the system information of their PCs.

How to Get Windows 11 Preview Build on your PC?

Microsoft has made the Windows 11 beta version available for competent PCs. The Insider version of the Windows 11 preview build is 22000.100. You have to be a part of the Windows Insider Program, and if your PC supports the requirements, voilà! You’re ready to install the beta version of Windows 11. Here's what you need to do:

  • Hold the Win and I button to explore Device Settings. Go to the section of Update & Security. Check out the left pane and click on Windows Insider Program.

  • The registration process might have started, and you have to Link your Microsoft account. Select the account that you want to link with. Follow all the instructions on your screen one by one.

  • When your PCC is back in action, again go to Settings, and then head to Update & Security. Click on Check for Updates. If your PC is compatible, then it should have initiated downloading Windows 11 beta version.

Once the download ends, your PC will enter another Restart option. When the boot is complete, your PC will revive with Windows 11.

When will Windows 11 be available for General Use?

After successful tests and trials, the attractive Windows 11 will be available for use on general PCs. According to tech experts, Microsoft is most likely going to reveal the operating system this fall. If Microsoft witnesses any possibility in previous processors to go compatible with Windows 11, then it might include those PCs for getting a revamping Windows 11 version. So, check if your computer is compatible with Windows 11 system requirements. Or else, you can look for Windows 11 compatible PCs if you’re a Windows fan.
