Zoom is launching an app store and standalone events

With the goal of broadening the scope of its video conferencing software, Zoom has announced the general availability of Zoom Apps and Zoom Events, both of which are free to use.

The Zoom App Marketplace already has over 1,500 third-party integrations; Zoom Apps, on the other hand, expands these offerings by seamlessly embedding third-party apps within Zoom Meetings to improve collaboration, productivity, and even entertainment for hybrid workers.

Although developers are currently working on adding even more applications to the service, there are currently over 50 Zoom Apps available in categories such as whiteboarding, project management, and note-taking that are available right now.

Users can create action items in meetings using Asana, which allows for real-time feedback and polling. Other standout apps include Dropbox Spaces for online collaboration as well as SurveyMonkey Enterprise, which is used for surveys and polls and SurveyMonkey Professional, which is used to create surveys and polls.

Zoom Events

Availability of Zoom Events has been extended to the general public, and the virtual event platform now enables both large and small businesses to manage and host back-to-back event sessions, such as sales summits, customer events, trade shows, and internal events.

Aside from event hubs and dedicated corporate virtual event spaces, the new platform also offers customizable registration as well as networking opportunities through a chat-enabled virtual event lobby. Those interested in Zoom Events will have the opportunity to see the platform in action later this year when Zoom hosts its annual Zoomtopia user conference as well as its Zoom Academy professional development event for educators on the platform.

Despite the fact that Zoom Events for businesses is now generally available, Zoom's consumer-focused Zoom Events solution OnZoom will remain in beta for the foreseeable future, and it will serve as a platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and entrepreneurs to host and publish events.

A press release from the founder and CEO of Zoom, Eric S. Yuan, explained how Zoom Apps and Zoom Events can both assist in the facilitation of hybrid work, stating that

Founder and CEO of Zoom, Eric S. Yuan, stated, "I am thrilled to see our platform vision expand through Zoom Apps and Zoom Events, as the world embraces hybrid work, empowering the workforce today and into the future." The company says that these innovations will improve the ways in which we connect and collaborate with our coworkers and clients as well as with friends, family members, and others, increasing productivity while also maintaining elements of fun and well-being.
