Instructions:

  1. Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 30 minutes. Drain the water and keep the rice aside.

  2. In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 30 seconds.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies and cook until the tomatoes become soft.

  5. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn brown. 

  6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, biryani masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.

  7. Add yoghurt, lemon juice, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  8. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the soaked rice. Cook the rice until it's 80% done.

  9. Drain the rice and layer it over the chicken mixture. Add a layer of fried onions and chopped mint and coriander leaves.

  10. Cover the pot with a tight lid and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.

  11. Once the biriyani is cooked, garnish it with more fried onions, chopped mint and coriander leaves, and chicken wings (optional).
