A significant milestone has been achieved by Kokoro Kids, a Catalonia-based startup, as it secures official partnership status with a prominent Danish institution. Spearheaded by entrepreneur Claudia de la Riva, the startup recently garnered €2.25 million in funding from the esteemed Lego Foundation.

Kokoro Kids stands out for its commitment to inclusive online education, catering to children and adolescents aged 2 to 15. The platform places particular emphasis on addressing the needs of individuals with special requirements, including those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).Notably, in 2023, Kokoro Kids was among the select group of nine startups chosen to receive substantial financial backing from the Lego Foundation during the initial phase of its social initiatives.

However, the onset of the pandemic prompted a pivot in de la Riva's entrepreneurial endeavors. Faced with the challenges brought about by the crisis, including layoffs and economic instability, she decided to redirect her focus from childcare to the education sector.With the establishment of Kokoro Kids, now operating under the Apolo Kids umbrella, de la Riva's startup has honed in on providing specialized education for children facing additional difficulties.

Their mission is centered around making a tangible impact on learning, particularly for neurodivergent children, by offering tailored solutions and support within the education landscape. This strategic shift underscores de la Riva's commitment to addressing pressing societal needs and leveraging technology to create positive change in the education sector.Kokoro Kids offers a personalized application boasting a repertoire of over 260 games tailored for all children.

Furthermore, the platform is seamlessly integrated into the Apolo Kids platform, a Valencia-based startup specializing in autonomous and inclusive learning initiatives. This collaboration underscores Kokoro Kids' commitment to fostering accessible and impactful educational experiences for children across diverse backgrounds and abilities.
