Living Lab Ventures (LLV), the corporate venture arm of property developer Sinar Mas Land, has introduced the LLV Launchpad, a new initiative aimed at assisting global startups in expanding their presence to Indonesia.Situated in BSD City, the smart megacity project developed by Sinar Mas Land, the launchpad is specifically crafted to facilitate the integration of foreign startups into the Indonesian digital economy.

Sinar Mas Land has expressed the possibility of collaborating with startups from the launchpad for potential "pilot projects" within BSD City. However, specific details regarding these projects have not been disclosed by the company.Since its inception in 2022, LLV has made investments in 27 technology startups across Southeast Asia, including notable Indonesian companies such as Social Bread, Paper.id, and Traveloka.Mulyawan Gani, Chief Transformation Officer at Sinar Mas Land, remarked, "While most of these startups are local, we are thrilled to now welcome startups from around the world to expand their presence within our digital ecosystem in Indonesia.

"Furthermore, in January 2024, LLV introduced a biomedical fund in Indonesia to provide support to organizations operating within the biomedical sector, encompassing healthtech startups, research centers, and biobanks.LLV Launchpad will serve as a gateway for startups, offering valuable insights into the local market landscape, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of consumer behaviors and tailor their products or services accordingly. Additionally, the initiative will provide startups with access to investment opportunities, fostering their growth and success in the Indonesian market.
