MG ES5 Makes its Debut as a Compact Electric SUV for Household Use

On October 15, 2024, the new MG ES5 made its official debut. Formerly known as the "S5," the name was changed to "ES5" to better highlight its fully electric capabilities. The MG ES5 is built on SAIC’s pure electric architecture, Nebula, and is positioned as a compact SUV designed for household use. It offers three range options: 425 km, 515 km, and 525 km.

The MG ES5 is designed to meet the needs of families, featuring a smooth, sleek exterior. The front end boasts a clean, closed-off design, with segmented lighting on both sides and air intakes below the headlights. The front grille also has a divided design. The MG ES5 is powered by a single rear motor setup that delivers a maximum power output of 125 kW and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The chassis combines a MacPherson independent front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, ensuring stable handling and control.
