LG OLED: Creating Reality of Stadiums from The Living Room

The triumphant resumption of major sporting events across countries following several months of lockdown came as a huge relief to all anxious sports fans who were forced to confront the unpleasant reality created by the cancellation.

A very glaring moment during the return of the games is the emptiness in all the football stadiums. Though the development was deemed necessary for the 'new normal,' it is strange and unreal, leaving a huge void in fans' minds. Therefore, what better way to relive the thrill of a match than to upgrade one's living room setup? As you are probably aware, not all televisions are designed with sports in mind, but LG televisions most definitely are.

LG Electronics has stepped in to fill the void, demonstrating that empty stands do not have to mean silent games through the LG OLED's self-emitting pixels.

LG Electronics has established beyond a reasonable doubt that a larger television will always perform better at viewing action played across massive fields by displaying zoomed-out footage in incredible detail as sporting events gradually return to television. Also, larger displays provide wider viewing angles, allowing family and friends to watch the big game together without huddling on the sofa, according to Mr. Vanjamin Kim, General Manager, Home Entertainment Division, LG Electronics West Africa.

"With the widest angles that are viewed in the industry, the 88-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K TV is the pinnacle of home entertainment, while its 48-inch sibling offers the same wide viewing angle in smaller rooms.

With the self-emitting pixels of LG OLED's in 4K and 8K, viewers can see every detail, down to the smallest blade of grass, while reducing motion blur and flickering due to each pixel's independent illumination.

The televisions feature AI Sound Pro and up-mix game audio to create realistic sports sounds; they also feature Bluetooth Surround Sound. Easily connects to LG's powerful XBOOM speakers or a wide variety of soundbars.

“Grey uniformity is critical in sports. Concentrating on a single color for an extended period of time requires a television to maintain a single block of color at a realistic brightness and without distracting dark patches. LG OLED TVs have consistently received high praise for their best-in-class uniformity,” Kim said.

LG TVs now include a feature that keeps users informed of their team's latest news and kick-off times, ensuring that not a single second of exciting play is missed. LG's new OLED Motion Pro and TruMotion technologies, combined with a light-speed 120Hz response time, enable viewers to easily follow small objects, catching every basket, goal, and score.

You can also find LG products behind the scenes of sports. For example, the massive displays located throughout Spanish giant Atlético Madrid's sprawling Wanda Metropolitano Stadium provide fans with perfect, crystal-clear replays of every tackle and goal.

LG's cutting-edge technology also made its way to North London, where you filmed Tottenham Hotspur's match against Burnley in glorious 8K to capture ultra-high-definition football footage and captivate customers watching the action unfold on LG's range of OLED and NanoCell 8K televisions.

As the world's first TVs to support NVIDIA G-SYNC, these TVs deliver flawless graphics, increasing players' sense of immersion by adapting the TV's refresh rate to the frame rate of the connected hardware. OLED preserves a game's highest-quality imagery with HDR settings, incredible black levels, and superb contrast without sacrificing critical latency performance for games like Call of Duty and Overwatch that reward instant reactions.

There is UltraGear for esports professionals. LG UltraGear 4K monitors are equipped with technology that enables an otherworldly experience with 4K gaming. Except for times and 1ms Nano IPS screens that cover 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space standard used by the professional film industry, online battlefields have never been more vibrant or free of the unpleasant blur and ghosting that detract from the gaming experience.
