Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 hands-on videos have surfaced online ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to officially unveil both foldable phones. The hands-on video provides an overview of Samsung's under-display camera technology, which will be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 does not appear to use the same technology, as the cutout for the selfie camera is visible. Separately, purported Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 specification sheets have been leaked on Twitter, indicating the new hardware details.

DroneMania, a YouTube channel, has posted a hands-on video purporting to show the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. For nearly one and a half minutes, the video appears to show the entire design and user interface of both unannounced phones. There are few surprises, as we have already seen some high-quality marketing material highlighting the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3's key features. Nonetheless, the hands-on video appears to depict the phones in their natural state following their official launch, rather than as computer-generated images or 3D renderings.

Among the most noticeable features highlighted in the video is the under-display camera, which has long been rumored to be included in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The source also uploaded a separate video demonstrating how the selfie camera conceals itself with a virtual cover of pixels. It appears to be almost imperceptible the majority of the time.

Update: DroneMania has removed the original hands-on video and a separate one demonstrating the under-display camera. Ben Geskin, however, re-uploaded the same hands-on video to his YouTube channel.

On Tuesday, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Mix 4, the company's first commercial phone to feature an under-display camera. Samsung is likely to be the next major vendor to provide a comparable experience with the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Additionally, the hands-on video indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 3's under-display camera technology will be exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and will not be included in the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Additionally, it demonstrates the crease that may be prominent on both foldable phones.

Along with the hands-on video, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore tweeted the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 specification sheets, which revealed the majority of their internals. The specifications appear to be quite similar to those that were recently leaked.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 appear to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and built to IP68 standards. According to the leaked specifications sheet, the phones will also include stereo speakers and support for dedicated eSIM cards. Additionally, both new models may feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
