How to Repair a Leaky Bathroom Faucet

bathroom faucet, bathroom faucet stores, commercial touchless kitchen faucet .

Got a pesky faucet that won't stay shut? Don't let it become an annoyance - put the tools in your hand and tackle this common plumbing problem yourself! Though you may need to get creative when squeezing into tight spaces, rest assured there's nothing overly complicated about fixing up those leaky fixtures. Follow our steps below for more info on getting started!

Step 1: Find The Leak

If you notice a leak in your commercial touchless kitchen faucet, try this simple trick to determine the source of the problem! First switch off the cold-water supply valve. Does that stop it? Then you know it's coming from your cold water tap - no need for any repairs here. But if switching off just one is not enough to solve things, turn on the hot and shut down the cold again instead – now does it do its job? Fantastic: The culprit was actually located within your warm-water handle all along! However, should these tactics fail, both valves may require attention unfortunately...

Step 2: Remove The Faucet Handle Cap

To get started, make sure to shut down the source of water at your sink by flipping both valves off. Then remove the decorative cap from each faucet handle with a thin blade screwdriver and you'll be ready for whatever project is on deck!

Step 3: Remove The Handle

To detach the handle from its cartridge, simply unscrew it. Then you'll be able to grasp and remove the handle with ease.

Step 4: Remove The Retaining Nut

An adjustable wrench provides the ideal tool for loosening the nut that securely holds a cartridge in place. Taking this step will give you access to your cartridge so you can move forward with repairs or replacement.

Step 5: Pull Out The Cartridge

You might have a two-handled faucet that needs repair. Don't despair! All you need to know is what type of cartridge your fixture uses—an old brass style or plastic. Knowing this, the process for taking it apart will be easy and straightforward no matter which kind of valve system you're dealing with.

When it comes to removing a cartridge, sometimes the trickiest part is getting started! With no tools required, grasping onto the cartridge with pliers and giving it little shakes are easy ways to get unstuck.

Step 6: Remove The Seal And Spring

The type of cartridge you are using determines the tool needed for removal - a nail set or similar device is required to extract plastic cartridges, while brass needs an Hex Key. Make sure that whatever method you use suits your cartridge in order to avoid damage!

Step 7: Reassemble The Faucet

To complete your repair, start by swapping out the components included in your kit for new parts. Make sure to orient any plastic cartridges with their raised area facing inward towards the spout - then just reverse everything else you did before!
