Oriole Networks has entered into a licensing agreement with Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Company in China, granting them access to Oriole’s innovative technology. While this partnership marks a significant milestone for Oriole in terms of expanding its market reach, it does not directly contribute to the advancement of flying car travel in Europe.

Klein Vision’s ambitious vision of a shape-shifting vehicle that seamlessly transitions from a road car to a flying aircraft is edging closer to reality with the licensing of its technology to Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Company in China. Although the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the development of the prototype alone required an investment of $2.3 million. This collaboration signifies a significant stride towards realizing the potential of flying car technology, bringing us closer to a future where such innovative vehicles may revolutionize transportation dynamics.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Chinese company gains exclusive rights to produce and distribute the AirCar within a designated geographical area in China. The AirCar, equipped with retractable wings, folding tail surfaces, and a parachute deployment system, boasts a seamless transformation from a sports car to an aircraft in just two minutes and 15 seconds. In January 2022, Klein Vision made headlines when its AirCar flying car obtained a Certificate of Airworthiness from the Slovak Transport Authority, solidifying its legality for flight operations. With an impressive cruise speed of 300km/h and a remarkable range of 1000 km, the AirCar represents a significant advancement in personal air travel technology. This regulatory approval marks a crucial milestone for Klein Vision, paving the way for widespread adoption of its innovative airborne vehicle.

The announcement came on the heels of 142 successful landings conducted in Bratislava. Operating under the vigilant supervision of the Civil Aviation Authority, the AirCar underwent rigorous testing, logging over 40 hours of test flights. These tests encompassed a range of maneuvers, including steep 45-degree turns, stability assessments, and maneuverability evaluations, all aimed at ensuring the vehicle’s performance and safety standards met regulatory requirements.

In earlier flight trials, the AirCar soared to altitudes of 8200 feet and achieved a top speed of 190 km/h (103 knots). Remarkably, this two-seater flying car requires just a 300-meter stretch for takeoff, highlighting its versatility and adaptability to diverse terrains.

Additionally, Klein Vision unveiled plans for an expanded lineup, including a four-seater variant and a twin-engine amphibious aircraft.
