Lyricism plays a significant role in rapping. Established within popular culture, rap music depicts a credible art of expression. This type of music is all about intricate rhyming patterns and articulating tales with metaphors, imagery, and wordplay. Even in the Indian culture, this type of music receives critical acclaim. But here, this post has come up with something that landed on the Internet and took fans by storm. Being one of the most popular rappers in Indian music, Badshah recently launched Sanak. This latest track underwent critical acclaim, both positive and negative.

To start with, it inspired music artist Shweta Subram so much that she thought of bringing the next version as the answer to the first. And it is pointless to state that fans loved and appreciated the attempt of Shweta Subram's reply to Sanak Badshah. But the original song has witnessed several negative reviews too.

Badshah Controversies: Why Badshah's Sanak Received Backlash?

Even today, rap music struggles to accomplish universal recognition as art. So, refraining from choosing words meticulously can lead to damaging impacts. The same thing happened with Badshah's Sanak, which is why it received backlash.

Ever since Indian history, religion has always been a significant part of the culture. Besides giving meaning and purpose to the life of Indian people, it reinforces social stability and unity. What's more, it also serves as the agent of social control and motivates people to work for positive social changes.

Being a Hindu-dominant nation, Indians believe in deities. In fact, the Vedic texts also describe gods and goddesses personifying different cosmic powers through wind, sun, fire, dawn, earth, darkness, and more. So, when this Punjabi singer-rapper mentioned Lord Shiva's name in his Sanak song, it hurt religious emotions. The news came up from social media platforms.

Even a senior priest from Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain had raised an objection to his song. He also criticized Badshah for using Bholenath's name alongside other explicit lyrics. So, he asked the singer to remove the name of Shiva from his song and apologize. In fact, he also said that if he did not listen to this issue, he would lodge FIR against him. That's everything to know about Badshah controversies.

Eventually, rapper-singer Badshah issued his apology for hurting the sentiments. By leveraging the power of social media, he posted a statement. There, he shared he has taken 'proactive measures' to change a few parts of his song. In addition, he even stated that he would never offend willingly or unknowingly to anyone through his songs.

Badshah's Sanak: Positive Reviews

To Badshah, artistic creations, as well as musical compositions, are the most important elements that he focuses on. So, after receiving the backlash, he decided to do the needful. The singer took proactive measures with utmost passion and sincerity and changed the song accordingly.

The replacement process took only days before changes were reflected on the platforms. Before he made these alterations, he also requested his fans to be patient during the replacement process (which may take a few days). After offering his sincerest apologies to the ones who felt hurt, he worked on the changes.

After this, the new version got launched on all digital platforms. This new version now received critical acclaim, and even popular singers like Jalebi Baby (Shweta Subram) attempted to give an answer through a new version: Sanak 2.0. If you are a fan of Shweta Subram, you can watch Shweta Subram reply to Badshah on her YouTube channel.
