THE EVOLUTION OF APPROACHES TO EDUCATION THROUGHOUT HISTORY

  • INCEPTION:

Education is a learning process. It is a tool for acquiring knowledge. The growth of enlightenment in Egypt and Mesopotamia resulted in an enormous wealth of knowledge. This body of knowledge turned out to be heavy and difficult for oral transmission to descendants. Thus was born the concept of formal schooling. When we look at the various cultures of the modern world, even the idea that children are not in school seems insane.

That is why even those students who are not good enough to cope up with academic tasks are facilitated with academic services like proofreading services to keep their academic career going. This is the stage where the author goes through their own work, gives a final check, and carefully reads the document to find any mistakes in wordings (helpwithdissertation, 2021). It is generally recognized that schools are necessary to impart knowledge that helps children become healthy and capable members of society.

  • THE EVOLUTION FROM HUNTING AND GATHERING TO AGRICULTURAL SOCIETIES:

One thing that can be attributed to the development of schools in all societies of the world is agriculture. Prior to this hunting and gathering societies were the only societies that existed. As a result of agriculture, a person could grow food and get rid of the addiction to hunting and gathering. Hunting and gathering societies were not so populated societies as there was a scarcity of food. The abundance of food allowed people to have more children.

These children not only helped their parents at camp but also took care of their younger siblings at home.

  • LITERACY SKILLS ARE EASILY ACQUIRED THROUGH FORMAL EDUCATION.

Usually, people consider school as an educational tool, but in reality, it is a very recent phenomenon. For nearly 2,000 years, children have learned primarily through exploration and play. In hunter-gatherer societies, children learned by observing the actions of their elders and through trial and error.

But since direct experience was insufficient to teach children to read and write, schools in all societies became very important in the dissemination of literature and knowledge. Time has undergone such an evolutionary process that now education is no more an individualistic matter for a student. People have acknowledged the hurdles that might bother a student during his academic journey. Therefore, various services like essay writing services are helping students keep their academic standards up to date.

  • RELIGIOUS AND MORAL EDUCATION:

In the beginning, education was mainly related to moral education and religious education. Children learned the noble language in order to more easily integrate into adult society. Much later, the concept of learning and development appeared in various professions around the world.

  • FEAR-DRIVEN SCHOOL APPROACH:

Fear of punishment persisted longer with school treatment. In addition to emphasizing literacy skills, schools in ancient times mostly emphasized physical activity. Almost all children have chosen to study music, dance, art, or sports.

  • LEARNING BASED ON MEMORIZATION:

For a long time, repetition or memorization remained the method of raising education among children. Teachers were quick to judge that children learn more easily through play and exploration. In fact, teachers considered playful activities to be the enemy of learning.

  • MODERN EDUCATIONAL APPROACH:

Modern education has become less rigid for students. However, as the body of knowledge continues to grow, students continue to struggle with their learning in more areas and concepts. This is because they have to learn more and more concepts and ideas in order to keep pace with the advancement in knowledge. However, schools have also learned their lessons and are taking more collaborative approaches.

  • WAY FORWARD:

Quality education requires that educational institutions, teachers, and the entire educational system adapt the model of education according to the needs of students and thus fill the necessary gaps in the system. Are there opportunities still to be explored; and what impact might this have on how educators teach and deliver their curriculum in the future? (Bonfield, 2020) Steps to improve the quality of education further are

  • It must meet the needs of daily life and the working environment.
  • It is important to find strategies in such a way that students.
  • We need to train teachers who have the necessary knowledge to make judgments in group classes and who know new methods and techniques for children.
  • Building playgrounds, installing hundreds of computers, connecting children to teachers.

  • CONCLUSION:

To better understand the societies in which we live and work, it is necessary to include organizations, including schools, in which members of advanced societies spend most of their lives. In any society, the school is the cumulative result of the existence of different practices and models of social organization, especially those that arise in the business world. It is, therefore, necessary to develop an understanding of the evolutionary process through which the education system passed through.
