Business executives have a laser-sharp focus on measurable outcomes, such as productivity gains, process efficiency, workforce optimization, cost savings, and revenue growth. As such, there is little room for being distracted by the hype surrounding AI technologies.
According to a recent BCG report, AI and Gen AI are among the top three tech priorities for business leaders in 2024. However, a majority of these leaders remain ambivalent or dissatisfied with their progress in implementing AI and Gen AI solutions, with only 6% reporting meaningful progress in upskilling their workforce to fully leverage these technologies. Despite these challenges, 54% of leaders expect AI to yield cost savings in 2024, with about half anticipating savings exceeding 10%.
Delving into specific industries reveals a mixed picture in terms of AI adoption. In the automotive sector, for instance, a significant portion of business leaders in Germany (43%) and the UK (56%) are already utilizing AI technologies such as deep learning for machine vision projects.
