Everything you need to know about ALAT Hackaholics

A hackathon organized by ALAT by Wema called #Hackaholics 3.0 – Building the Future has been announced, and hundreds of applications have already been received from across the country. Technology enthusiasts and innovators will benefit from the competition, which is intended to assist them in scaling their businesses and breaking into an extremely competitive market.

At the Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Akure, in Ondo, the initial application period began on February 5, 2022, and the subsequent pitching round began on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, and concluded on February 17, 2022, both dates being the same as the initial application period.

Two pitches are left, with the next taking place at Babcock University in Ogun State on April 12. If you are considering pitching that great idea you have been working on, you should know that applications for this program opened on March 19, 2022, and will close on March 31, 2022, so you have plenty of time to learn.

There are four things to keep in mind:

1.  Eligibility criteria to participate in ALAT Hackaholics 3.0

This program is open to all young Nigerians who are tackling specific challenges in a variety of sectors and are interested in participating. In addition, the solution should emphasize the limitless possibilities offered by future technology, such as NFTs, Web 3.0, Metaverse, Blockchain, augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, among other things.

Registration is required in order to be eligible. After that, candidates who have expressed interest and registered will be invited to present their ideas at a pitch center.

2. Programme structure

Participants who register are screened using a series of questions designed to assess the strength of their ideas before proceeding to the next step. At the end of each of the three pitching centers, three winning ideas are selected. In the following round, the winners will compete in a grand finale at a different pitching facility.

3. Cash prizes

It will be a grand occasion when Hachaholics 3.0's finals are held later this year, and after x regional pitches, the wait will be well worth the effort.

The first, second, and third place finishers will each receive 2.5 million dollars, 1.5 million dollars, and one million dollars, respectively.

4. Mentorship and training

Additionally, winners will have the opportunity to be mentored by some of the most accomplished innovators in Nigeria's technology sector.
