How To Delete Photos From Your IPhone, But Not From ICloud

iPhone, iCloud, Phone technology.

How to delete photos from your iPhone, but not from iCloud

Based on your requirements, there are a variety of methods for increasing the available storage on your iPhone.

Disable the iCloud service

iCloud Photos syncing is enabled by default on every iPhone, regardless of model. iCloud automatically syncs with Photos on the iPhone as long as your iCloud account has enough space on your device. In a nutshell, any photo stored on an iPhone or in the iCloud is a true copy of the original, not a duplicate. For the time being, any photo deleted from the iPhone is also deleted from the iCloud storage.

Follow these steps to turn off iCloud syncing on your device.

1. From your iPhone's homescreen, go to Settings and select the Apple ID that corresponds to your given name.

2. From the Apple ID screen, go to iCloud > Photos and select it.

Apple ID > iCloud > Photos in iOS settings

3. Toggle the iCloud Photos toggle switch to the off position to prevent syncing.

In addition, you can safely delete photos from your iPhone if you have iPhone-iCloud connectivity turned off.

Create a backup of your photographs using one of the iCloud alternatives

Another cloud storage service can be used as a photo backup, which is a straightforward solution. Choose from a variety of cloud storage services, including Google Photos, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, and others. The Google Photos photo storage service is an excellent choice for creating an independent backup of your photos from your iCloud photo library.

1. Download and install the Google Photos application on your computer.

2. Sign into Google Photos by logging into it with the Google account that you wish to use.

3. Select your Google profile photo from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner.

4. Select Enable backup from the drop-down menu.

5. Select whether to save photos in their original resolutions or at a lower quality under Backup & Sync.

6. To begin the backup procedure, click the Confirm button.

Use a different iCloud account

Working around this by logging out of one iCloud account and logging into another is a time-consuming process. It is possible, however, to keep your photos in iCloud even if you delete them from your iPhone. As long as you log out of the old iCloud account before deleting it, your synced photos will be retained, and you can then use the new iCloud account to sync everything going forward.

1. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.

2. Select your name by logging in with your Apple ID.

3. At the bottom of the screen, click Sign Out to exit the application. Your Apple ID password must be entered here in order to turn off Find My Phone and de-link your phone from this iCloud account.

4. To create a new Apple ID account, go to Settings > Apple ID.

5. At this point, you should delete all of the photos from your iPhone. The backup copies that were stored in the old iCloud account will not be removed.

If you have a large photo collection and want to keep them within the Apple ecosystem so that they are accessible from all of your Apple devices, this is a good option to consider.
