How to Download and Sign Up to Wattpad
To start, go to your app store and download the free Wattpad app for your device. Once the downloading is completed, you will need a Wattpad account. You can make one by opening the application, and then tapping on the "Don’t have an account"? Sign up underneath the login fields. How to Find Something to Read on Wattpad
Now that you are all set up, Wattpad will now, show you some stories to read. This can be a little much, so here’s how to cut across the information overload and find something good to read.
First of all, if you are using Wattpad just to read free ebooks, you should keep an eye out for the paid stories. Paid stories always have a free preview, but you will need to spend money to read the rest.
To get started, click on the Search and browse bar that is at the top. When you do that, Wattpad will show you all the genres that it supports. Tap on one of them to view all the stories that are under that genre.
Secondly, you can search for stories that would fit your favorite styles. If you enter a word, Wattpad will look for that word in the title and description of every ebook that it holds. For example, searching “cyberpunk” will look for books that have “cyberpunk” in the title or description.
You can also prefix a word with a hash (#) symbol to search for the book tags. This is a very good option if you are trying to find books that are under a specific sub-genre. For example, searching “#cyberpunk” will bring up every book that has “cyberpunk” in its tags.
How to Read a Wattpad Ebook
When you have chosen a book to read, click on the Read button to start reading the book. You should now see the beginning of the book. You can read more of the book by scrolling down. Each book is split up into chapters; you can see how far you are in the current section by looking at the scroll bar which is on the right.
When you reach the bottom of a chapter in the book, do one more scroll to view an ad. These ads make it look as if you have finished the book, but don’t worry. Just scroll past the ad as you would a page, and the next chapter will start.
