How to Screen Share in a Discord Server through Direct Message
In addition to using Discord servers and voice channels, you can also communicate with your friends via direct message on Facebook. You can text multiple people at the same time using the default method, but you can also use it to initiate a voice or video call with a single person using the advanced method. After starting a conference call, you can share your screen with everyone who has been invited to the meeting.
It is important to note that, in contrast to the Discord voice channel method, this method gives you complete control over who can view your stream and does not require you to use a specific Discord server.
The following is an example of how to screen share via Discord direct message:
1. Launch Discord by selecting the Discord logo in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. Alternatively, you can either open an existing DM, which includes individual and group DMs, or create a new one.
3. Near the top right of the screen, select the Call icon, which looks like a phone handset.
4. Turn on screen sharing by selecting the Turn on Screen Share icon, which looks like a monitor with an arrow pointing upward.
5. Following the selection of your resolution and frame rate (FPS), select Application Window from the drop-down menu.
6. After selecting the game or application window to stream, select Share from the drop-down menu.
7. Above the text portion of the DM, a large window displaying your stream will be displayed.
8. Pause streaming by hovering your mouse over the stream and clicking on the X-shaped screen icon.
