How to Set a Default App Kindle Device for Amazon E-books
What is the Kindle Device?
A Kindle Device is known as a small hand-held electronic device that is majorly used for reading books, which has been developed by the Amazon retailer online. The Kindle was launched in the early 2012 when it was then the Kindle Fire, and later it became the Kindle Fire HD, with more functionality that was added than that of the previous Kindles and which is similar to a tablet device, based on an operating system that is called the Android.
When you are purchasing an e-book through the Amazon, the e-book gets automatically delivered to your account’s default Kindle device. It is fine if you only have one Kindle on your account, but in some cases you may still want to change which device is set as the default if you have more than one.
How To Set Up A Kindle As The Default Device
1. Log in to your Amazon account, hover over “Accounts & Lists” it is located near the top-right corner of the website, and then you click “Manage Your Content and Devices.”

3. Next, you go under “Manage Your Content and Devices,” select “Devices.”

5. Under “Amazon Devices,” click “Kindle,” and then click the device that you want to set as the default.

7. Finally, you can now click the “Set as Default Device” button. Then click “Save” for it to save your settings.

Now, take note of this whenever you purchase or preorder an e-book, Amazon will send your e-book to you automatically straight to that Kindle. As soon as the Kindle is connected to the internet, it will start to download any newly available books without you taking any extra actions.
How To Set a Tablet or Smartphone as the Default Device
If you prefer or you choose to read e-books with your tablet or smartphone, you can still set the Kindle app as your default device.
1. From the same Managed Devices screen that is on the Amazon, under “Amazon Apps that is Installed on Devices,” select “Kindle.”

3. This will show you all the list of tablets, smartphones, and also computers you have the Kindle app installed on.

5. Now find the device that you want to set as the default, scroll down and click “More Actions,” then click “Set as Default Device.” Finally, click the “Save” button.

Now, if you purchase an e-book, it will automatically get sent straight to your chosen tablets or smartphone, all ready for you to start reading.
