How to Switch Off the Screenshot and Camera Sounds on Your iPhone
How to Turn Off the Camera Sound on iPhone
Turning off the sound on your camera sound on your iPhone is something that many people want to do. That sound does not really add anything valuable, and it is loud when taking a picture especially at night.
If you are wondering how to turn off the camera shutter sound on your iPhone, you have come to the right place. We would show you several methods to do that.
1. Flip the Silent Switch
The easiest way to turn off the camera sound on your iPhone X, 8, 7, 6, SE, or any other iPhone model is to flip the mute switch on the side of your device. Every iPhone model has this switch on the top of the left-hand side of the phone.
If the switch is closer to the screen, your device will play sounds as normal. When it’s in the Silent position, you’ll see orange underneath it. While in silent mode, aside from only vibrating for alerts, it also prevents the camera sound from playing.
2. Turn On Live Photos
On the iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and recent devices, you can capture Live Photos. These also include a few seconds of video and sound before and after the photo was captured. If you turn on Live Photos, your iPhone would not play the camera sound.
To turn on the Live Photos feature in the Camera application, you simply need to tap on the circular icon that is situated at the center-top of the screen. When it turns yellow, you have enabled Live Photos and would not hear a shutter noise.
3. Manually Lower the Volume
Your iPhone’s camera bu default plays all sounds at the volume that is currently set on your device. You can use the Volume buttons on the side of your phone to take it up or down, but if you press them while using the camera, it will take a picture.
So, before you open the Camera application, simply press and hold the Volume down button until it shows you the Mute option. You can also swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access Control Center and lower the volume that way. Lowering it all the way will mute the camera sound effect.
