How To Use Multiple YouTube Accounts On A Roku Device

What is Roku?

Roku is a digital media player that lets you stream video, music, and entertainment content. Think of Roku as a DVD player you never have to put a disc in. Roku comes in many different forms, from set-top boxes to TV sets with the service built into them. What all Roku devices have in common, however, is the ability to give you access to a large number of the biggest content providers which are available on the internet.

Simply put, Roku allows you to watch both free and paid video content on your TV through the Internet. TV and movie streaming services such as Netflix,  Amazon, Hulu, Sling TV, YouTube, and others download on to Roku devices, It is very similar to how applications load onto a smartphone. Logging in to and using several YouTube accounts on a single Roku device is a simple process that only requires a one-time setup. And once it’s done, you can easily switch between profiles on demand.

How to Add Multiple YouTube Accounts on Roku

The process of setting up your first YouTube account to your Roku device is always different from the process that is used for adding subsequent additional accounts. To add the first account, carry out the following steps:

1. Open up your YouTube application.

2. Press Left on your Roku remote.

3. Scroll down to the User icon that is on the screen and press OK.

4. Choose Sign In and press OK.

5. Either you allow Roku to find your mobile device automatically or you select Try another way and follow the on-screen instructions that come up.

6. On your mobile/PC device, choose the account and channel that you want to connect to the Roku application.

Then, to add multiple YouTube accounts following the initial setup, do the following:

1. Launch your YouTube application that is on Roku and press the Left button that is on the remote.

2. Scroll down to the avatar of the person that is currently logged in and press OK.

3. Select Add Account in the accounts list.

4. Either you allow YouTube to find your local mobile device or click Try another way, go over to youtube.com/activate and enter the on-screen code.

Once you have finished adding the additional users, you can switch across the accounts by going to the YouTube menu and clicking on the user’s profile picture. You can also use the same menu to create a guest browsing session.
