How to Use WhatsApp on PC and Mobile at the Same Time
If you'd like to use WhatsApp on both your PC and mobile device simultaneously, we'll demonstrate how.
Are you an expert at multitasking? WhatsApp Web enables you to operate on two devices concurrently, which comes in handy when you need to attend to people while working.
Here's how to use WhatsApp simultaneously on your PC and mobile device.
The Importance of WhatsApp Web
While WhatsApp is a must-have for your phone, it's also beneficial to be able to communicate using a standard keyboard. If you use WhatsApp on a daily basis, you're probably aware that simultaneous use is the feature that WhatsApp users have wished for the most. That is because it is significantly more convenient to use WhatsApp on both a PC and a mobile device simultaneously.
Previously, you couldn't use WhatsApp on your phone and have it sync with WhatsApp on your PC, but the service debuted WhatsApp Web in early 2015, which functions similarly to third-party apps.
According to Statista, WhatsApp has the world's largest mobile messenger user base, with approximately two billion monthly active users. Additionally, it is the world's third most popular social network. Thus, it's unsurprising that parent firm Facebook is always improving the app for your convenience.
How to Use WhatsApp on a PC and a Smartphone Simultaneously
By utilizing WhatsApp Web, you may quickly switch between WhatsApp on your desktop and phone at the same time. This is possible without using a hack, and it couldn't be simpler. Simply follow these few steps:
1. Open your preferred browser on your computer or tablet and navigate to web.whatsapp.com. It should work on any browser. Simply check that you are seeing the desktop version of the site. Your PC should display a QR code. The code does not require a QR scanner on your phone to be read.
2. On your phone, open WhatsApp and navigate to Settings > Linked Devices.
3. Next, click Link a Device. The QR reader for WhatsApp will open on your mobile device. By pointing your phone at the code, center it in the QR reader. This should log you into WhatsApp on the browser automatically. Following that, on the screen, select your laptop. When complete, you should be able to use WhatsApp simultaneously on your mobile device and PC.
What You Should Know About Using WhatsApp on Your Computer and Mobile
While the UI on WhatsApp Web is similar to that on your phone, desktop notifications are supported. Therefore, when you receive a message on WhatsApp, the notice will initially appear on the device you are currently using, followed by the notification on your other smartphone.
If you are currently using WhatsApp on your laptop, for example, and you receive a message, the notice will first appear on your laptop screen and then on your phone a few moments later. You can view and respond to the message on the other device. If you're sharing a computer, you may choose to change this setting for privacy concerns.
To do so on WhatsApp Web, click the menu icon, which appears as a downward-pointing arrow, on the left-hand side of the screen. Now navigate to Settings, Notifications, and tick the box next to Turn off all desktop notifications.
How to Manage Your WhatsApp Devices
Once your phone and computer are connected, you can manage your logged-in PCs directly from the WhatsApp app by navigating to Settings > Linked Devices. You can log out of the computer you're now using or delete all the devices listed from here.
WhatsApp by default will keep you logged in until you log out. However, if you do, you will need to repeat the QR code process in order to use WhatsApp on that device.
Because messages between your phone and browser sync quickly, you should be cautious about increasing data usage if you're on a limited mobile data contract. If you use WhatsApp frequently, you may wish to turn on your Wi-Fi.
WhatsApp Is Attempting to Standardize Its Features Across Platforms
WhatsApp has come a long way from its 2009 launch and acquisition by Facebook five years later. The social media network, meanwhile, continues to improve its app and standardize its features and functionality across mobile and WhatsApp Web platforms. This modification improves the convenience of WhatsApp for users globally.
As people's schedules get more hectic, expediency and ease of use are becoming increasingly non-negotiable features for social apps. WhatsApp, hopefully, will continue to address these needs in the future.
