OnePlus 9RT Could Launch in This October

The OnePlus 9RT is expected to launch in October, according to reports. According to a new report, the Chinese company is working on a new smartphone for its 'T' series of smartphones. With the OnePlus 8 series, the company decided to go in a different direction and released a single model, the OnePlus 8T, instead of multiple models. In the case of the OnePlus 9 series, it appears to be doing the same thing, though it will reportedly be built on the OnePlus 9R as a foundation. Additionally, some of the specifications for this OnePlus 9RT model have surfaced on the internet.

There have been rumors that the OnePlus 9T will not be released this year as previously stated. With the OnePlus 8 line-up, the company decided to stick with a single T series phone — the OnePlus 8T — instead of releasing multiple T series phones in the same year as the flagship series.

According to a new report from Android Central, which cites insider sources, the next phone in the T series will be the OnePlus 9RT, which will launch in October for the Indian and Chinese markets, at the very least for this year. As the name implies, it will be a tweaked version of the OnePlus 9R, which is the OnePlus 9 series' most affordable offering. For those interested in the technical specifications, the OnePlus 9RT is expected to have the same 120Hz AMOLED panel as the OnePlus 9R, 65W fast charging support, a 4,500mAh battery, and a “higher-binned version of the Snapdragon 870.” In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9RT is expected to use the same primary sensor as the OnePlus Nord 2 — the Sony IMX766 sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels.

On the software front, according to the report, it will be the first OnePlus phone to ship with OxygenOS 12, which is based on Android 12. More ColorOS features, such as floating resizable windows, a theme store, and ColorOS' Private Safe, will be available with the update.

According to reports, OxygenOS 12 will not feature Google's new Material You aesthetic.

Aside from that, according to the report, OxygenOS 12 was supposed to have been released as a closed beta by now, but a large number of bugs with the build have prevented that from happening. According to reports, the entire software team is currently working on fixing the bugs and distributing the close beta to testers by the end of this month.

The fact that OnePlus has not released any information about a possible OnePlus 9RT or developments with an OxygenOS 12 closed beta should not be overlooked.
