By connecting consumers directly to farmers and wholesalers through its web and mobile app-based platform, Pricepally is a wholesale food e-commerce startup that makes fresher, more affordable food items available to families and individuals across the country. Buyers can also shop for food and daily essentials in bulk on the platform in order to take advantage of the discount offered on bulk purchases.
It was founded by Luther Lawoyin, an ex-Alibaba Efounder fellow, to empower both sides of the food supply chain (farmers/wholesalers and consumers), thereby addressing issues such as high food costs, food waste, and access to high-quality farm-fresh items in the food supply space. The startup was launched in 2019. This is addressed by Pricepally, which employs technology to aggregate supply and demand through a well-organized system that connects customers directly to farm-fresh food products. Luther asserts the following:

How Does Pricepally Make Use of Technology to Better Serve Its Customers?
Users can gain access to the platform through the web and mobile applications for iOS and Android devices (App Store and Playstore). Pricepally offers a simple onboarding process that allows first-time users to 'create account' on its platform and take advantage of additional features such as:
- Pricepally Wallet: This feature enables users to pay for their orders using their personal in-app wallet, which they create themselves. Nigerian bank accounts can be used to fund digital wallets.
- Pally: The Pally feature allows users to share large quantities of food in small quantities or portions. Tomatoes can be shared by up to 20 people in a basket weighing 50KG.
- Create a List: This feature allows users to quickly purchase items from their shopping list.
- Free delivery days: Shoppers can take advantage of free delivery if their location is scheduled to be included in the schedule of free delivery days.
Plans for Expansion
Since its inception, Pricepally has provided services to thousands of households and businesses in the Lagos metropolitan area. The startup, which is currently in the pre-seed stage, currently provides services to over 700 households and over 100 businesses each month, with a remarkable retention rate of 77 percent. Aside from the numbers, the platform has received positive feedback from some of its users, who have praised the startup's efficiency in processing orders.
