Tips for Keeping Your iPhone's Battery Health at 100 Percent
According to Apple, the company's devices, whether they are iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watch models, or other devices, typically have good battery life. Apple, on the other hand, has been accused of deliberately slowing down iPhone models with aging batteries in the past, and the company recently paid $113 million (roughly Rs. 819 crores) to settle the BatteryGate case.
Even though Apple claims that this was done to preserve battery health over a long period of time, the company has since introduced battery and performance management features to users, in addition to sharing tips and recommendations to keep batteries in good condition. When storing devices for an extended period of time, Apple recommends that they be updated to the most recent software version, that they avoid high ambient temperatures, that they remove certain cases while charging, and that they be stored in a half-charged state.
Apple has a page on its website that explains how to maximize the battery life and overall lifespan of your iPhone. The first step is to ensure that it is running the most up-to-date software.
Make sure your iPhone is up to date
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Select General from the drop-down menu.
3. Select Software Update from the drop-down menu.
4. You should be able to see the latest available update here. If you do notice an update, simply tap on it, and your iPhone will begin to update automatically. Check to see if you have enough battery life left.
5. Alternatively, you can connect your iPhone to your computer and update it with the most recent version of the iTunes application.
You can also extend the life of your battery by adjusting the brightness of your screen and connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi whenever possible. You have the option of either dimming or turning on auto brightness on your iPhone's screen.
Reduce the brightness of the display and enable auto brightness
1. Launch the Control Center.
2. Move the brightness slider to the bottom of the screen.
3. Navigate to the Settings menu to enable auto brightness.
4. Select General from the drop-down menu.
5. Select the Accessibility option.
6. Select Display Accommodations from the drop-down menu.
7. Turn on the Auto-Brightness feature.
Low-power mode should be enabled
When the battery of an iPhone starts to run low, users can switch to low power mode. When the battery is down to 20%, you will receive a notification, and Low Power Mode can be activated with a single tap on the screen. To manually activate Low Power Mode, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Settings menu.
2. Scroll down and select Battery from the drop-down menu.
Toggle the Low Power Mode switch to the On position
Users can view information about their iPhone's battery usage by going to the battery settings (Settings > Battery) on their device. iPhone users can also turn off features such as Background App Refresh and location services in order to conserve battery power. Here's how it's done:
Apps should not be allowed to refresh in the background
1. Navigate to the Settings menu.
2. Select General from the drop-down menu.
3. Select Background App Refresh from the drop-down menu.
4. Select Off to completely turn off Background App Refresh for the selected app.
Apps that use location services should be turned off
1. Navigate to the Settings menu.
2. Select the Privacy option.
3. Select Location Services from the drop-down menu.
4. A list of applications that use location services will be displayed, each with an off toggle.
