Despite the acquisition, both Podimo and Tonny Media will continue to operate as independent entities while merging their sales and expertise.

Tonny Media is recognized for its compelling podcast formats featuring prominent Dutch personalities and its proficiency in social media and video production. The company handles the concept, production, and promotion of its shows internally. Notable Tonny Media productions include “De Zelfspodcast” with Sander Schimmelpenninck and Jaap Reesema, “Geuze & Gorgels” by Monica Geuze and Kaj Gorgels, and “Marc-Marie & Isa Vinden Iets” and “Aaf & Lies lossen het wel weer op.” CEO Titus van Dijk will continue to lead the company.

Podimo, which launched in the Netherlands in 2022, had previously acquired production house Dag en Nacht Media, expanding its revenue streams to include advertising. This move significantly contributed to Podimo's success in the Netherlands, where the company recently reported profitability. Podimo’s portfolio now includes 100 exclusive and in-house productions such as “Moordcast,” “Man man man, de podcast,” “Alle Geschiedenis Ooit,” and “Bankzitters: Achter de Schermen.” The acquisition of Tonny Media aligns with Podimo’s strategy to further support creators in the Netherlands.

The two companies have been collaborating since 2022, with Tonny Media producing exclusive shows for Podimo. The acquisition will enhance Podimo's ability to offer a broader range of high-quality content, combining exclusive and open RSS shows to meet audience preferences. The integration of Tonny Media and Dag en Nacht Media’s sales teams is expected to attract larger advertising partners, increasing revenue opportunities for Dutch creators and supporting their audience growth.

Titus van Dijk, CEO of Tonny Media, conveyed considerable excitement about the acquisition, underscoring that partnering with Podimo aligns seamlessly with their strategic vision of expanding their creative reach and enhancing revenue streams for their content creators.
