Westcon-Comstor, a global leader in technology distribution and specialized solutions, has announced a major enhancement to its 3D Lab, a dynamic virtual demo environment launched in 2022. This new development integrates Amazon Web Services (AWS) into the platform, enabling partners across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) to experience the combined capabilities of multi-vendor cybersecurity solutions and AWS’s native services. The integration offers an unprecedented opportunity for partners to assess, validate, and demonstrate security solutions tailored to specific use cases within a secure and fully customizable AWS environment.

The 3D Lab was initially designed to address changing end-user purchasing behaviors, offering partners a hands-on, risk-free way to explore leading cybersecurity solutions before making investment decisions. This strategic move by Westcon-Comstor builds on the distributor’s existing collaboration with AWS. Early in 2023, the company launched its AWS Marketplace program, simplifying transactions on the platform for partners and creating new growth opportunities. By November, Westcon-Comstor had expanded its role as an authorized AWS distributor in Europe, complementing its established presence in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. These milestones have set the stage for the seamless integration of AWS into the 3D Lab, reinforcing the distributor’s position as a key enabler in the cloud and cybersecurity space.

Through the AWS-enabled 3D Lab, partners can now follow a streamlined process: validate a cybersecurity solution in an AWS environment, purchase it from Westcon-Comstor through a private AWS Marketplace listing or traditional sales channels, and ultimately deliver it to their end-users. This holistic approach shortens sales cycles and enhances customer confidence, empowering partners to position themselves as trusted advisors.

The 3D Lab has already proven to be a transformative tool for Westcon-Comstor’s partners. Since its inception, it has supported 4,000 users across 45 unique lab environments, showcasing 26 diverse use cases and generating $200 million in new business for partners in the EMEA region. The integration of AWS services marks the next step in the platform’s evolution, creating exciting new opportunities for partners to capitalize on the growing demand for cloud-based and multi-vendor cybersecurity solutions.
