How much extra do you pay for overweight baggage?

baggage allowance .

Baggage allowance remains among the biggest concerns not only for a passenger travelling but also for the airline. While travellers want to carry as much baggage as they possibly can, airlines have to maintain the weight/balance ratio of the aircraft. Therefore, resulting in baggage allowance limiting for the passengers. As for Qatar Economy class Tickets, a generous baggage allowance policy remains ensured that allows the traveller to carry an appropriate amount of baggage; neither too less nor too much.

Here's a comprehensive description of the baggage allowance policy of Qatar Airways.

The overweight baggage policy of Qatar Airways.

  1. If a passenger of Qatar airline is carrying excess baggage for its carry-on luggage, it would be adjusted in the checked-in baggage as per the available limit.
  2. If the passenger’s carry-on baggage as well as checked baggage are full, either a fee would be charged to carry the excess baggage or the passenger would have to compromise on not travelling with the extra weight along.
  3. On average, the overweight baggage fee is around 100 USD for a maximum of 32 kg limit. If your baggage also exceeds this limit, it would be processed under cargo luggage.
  4. The fee for overweight baggage also depends upon;
    1. Type of Fight ticket purchased.
    2. Arrival destination.
    3. Your travel class; business, economy or premium economy.
    4. Economic factors.
    5. Miles and More membership.
    6. Total flight period.
