New AI Servers Announced by AWS to Boost Performance

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has made a bold move in the AI hardware market by unveiling its latest data center servers powered by its proprietary Trainium2 chips. This development represents a direct challenge to Nvidia, the current leader in AI chip technology, and signals AWS’s growing ambition to carve out a significant share of this rapidly expanding market. Notably, Apple has emerged as a key customer, with Apple executive Benoit Dupin confirming the company’s use of Trainium2 chips. In collaboration with AI startup Anthropic, AWS is set to deploy its Trainium2 chips in a supercomputer composed of hundreds of thousands of interconnected chips.
