Apple Readies iPhone 13 Lineup With Pro-Focussed Camera, Video Updates

Apple's next iPhone lineup will include at least three significant new camera and video-recording features, which the company hopes will serve as significant incentives for users to upgrade from previous models.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the new handsets will include a video version of the phone's Portrait mode, the ability to record video in a higher-quality format called ProRes, and a new filters-like system for improving the look and colors of photos. The camera features are expected to be among the most compelling selling points for the iPhone 12's successor, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

Apart from the camera upgrades, the new iPhone models will receive relatively minor updates. Apple updated the iPhone design, added 5G wireless networking, and improved the camera hardware last year. For this year, the company will maintain the same 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch regular screen sizes, as well as the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Pro screen sizes and designs.

The new phones will feature a faster A15 processor and a smaller notch, also known as the display cutout, as well as new screen technology that may enable a higher refresh rate for smoother scrolling.

The next-generation phone continues the sleek look that has attracted many Apple fans. Various sizes and models also satisfy different groups of people. Many users will choose their favorite decorations as soon as they get their mobile phones. One of good partners to work with is Custom Keychains. At Keychains.co, you can customize keychains of various shapes and colors to link your smartphone with. Not only will your phone be unique, but it will also convey your personality.

The Cupertino, California-based company typically announces new iPhone models in September, but last year's launch was pushed back to October due to production issues related to COVID-19. With Apple delaying the reopening of its offices by several weeks, the company's next iPhone launch is almost certain to be virtual.

Apple's spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment. Apple's stock increased by about 1% in the first hour of trading Tuesday.

What else?

Portrait mode was introduced by Apple on the iPhone 7 Plus in 2016, and it quickly became a fan favorite. The feature can be used to isolate a subject while blurring the background, a technique known as bokeh. Apple intends to incorporate this same technique into video on the new iPhone handsets via a feature internally dubbed Cinematic Video. As with still photos, the effect is created by the iPhone's depth sensor, which allows users to adjust the amount of blur after recording.

With the addition of a new ProRes video recording feature, iPhone users will be able to capture clips in a higher-quality format that gives editors greater control during post-production.

The format is typically used by professional video editors in the film industry and is not intended for mass consumption, in part due to the format's large file sizes. ProRes will be available in both HD and 4K resolutions on the next generation of iPhone devices.

The addition of ProRes would follow the addition of ProRAW last year, a higher-quality still photo file format that gives professional editors more control. As with ProRAW, ProRes video recording may be limited to the more expensive Pro models.

Another feature will allow users to fine-tune the appearance of their images' colors and highlights. Users will be able to apply a variety of styles to their photos, including one that displays colors at a warmer or cooler temperature while maintaining neutral whites. Another option will add a more dramatic look with deeper shadows and increased contrast, and the company is developing a more balanced style that will highlight shadows and true-to-life colors while maintaining a bright appearance.

The feature will differ from standard filters, which have been available in the iPhone's Camera app since 2013, in that it will use artificial intelligence to precisely apply changes to objects and people across multiple photos, rather than applying a single filter to the entire image.

Apple's new iPhone gadgets, codenamed D16, D17, D63, and D64, are just a few of the upcoming devices. Additionally, the company is developing redesigned MacBook Pro models with in-house chips dubbed M1X, a redesigned iPad mini, and an entry-level iPad aimed at students. Additionally, Apple is developing new Apple Watches and entry-level AirPods.
