How To Customize IPhone Or IPad’s Control Center

iPad.

The Control Center, which appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone or iPad, can now be customized with iOS 11. You can customize the Control Center by deleting shortcuts that are rarely used, adding new shortcuts, and rearranging existing shortcuts to your liking.

In addition, 3D Touch is now supported in the Control Center, allowing you to hard press any shortcut to view additional information and perform additional actions. You can, for example, hard-press the music control to reveal additional playback controls, or the Flashlight shortcut to adjust the brightness level of the screen illumination. On an iPad without 3D Touch, simply long-press instead of hard-pressing to perform the action.

These personalization options can be found in the Settings application. To begin, go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls from the main menu.

To remove a shortcut, click on the red minus button to the shortcut's left. You have the option of disabling the default Flashlight, Timer, Calculator, and Camera shortcuts if you so desire.

To add a shortcut, click on the green plus button to the left of the text box. Accessibility Shortcuts, Alarm, Apple TV Remote, Do Not Disturb While Driving, Guided Access, Low Power Mode, Magnifier, Notes, Screen Recording, Stopwatch, Text Size, Voice Memos, and Wallet are just a few of the options you can choose from when customizing the buttons.

To reorder the appearance of a shortcut in the Control Center, simply touch and drag the handle to the right of the shortcut. You can see how the Control Center appears after you've customized it at any time by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. When you're finished, simply close the Settings application.

The following standard shortcuts, which are not visible on the Customize screen at all, cannot be deleted or rearranged. They are not available for customization. Wi-Fi (including Airplane Mode), Bluetooth (including AirDrop and Personal Hotspot), music (including screen rotation lock), Do Not Disturb (including screen mirroring), and brightness/volume control are all available.
