How To Install Windows 10’s May 2021 Latest Update (21H1)

How To Install Windows 10’s May 2021 Latest Update (21H1).

How To Install Windows 10’s May 2021 Latest Update (21H1)

The Windows 10’s May 2021 Update was released finally on May 18, 2021. As always, the Microsoft is currently slow-rolling this update out to the Windows 10 PCs, just bit by bit. The Windows Update should automatically install the 21H1 update on your PC, but it is possible that it may take a few weeks. Here is how you can get it right now.

Note: We recommend that you wait for Windows Update to automatically install this update on your PC. This is particularly a small update with some very few changes, so there is no reason for most people to start rushing the process. If you exercise a little patience, you will have less chance of encountering any "show-stopping" bug on your PC.

How to Get the Latest Update From Windows Update

What is New in the Windows 10's May 2021 Update (21H1), Available Now

You can check your Windows Update for the latest update, although itbis possible that it may not appear if Microsoft has not approved it for your PC’s hardware and software configuration yet.

1. To check this, head straight to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. (You can also open the Settings app simply by pressing Windows+i.) Tap “Check for Updates.”

2. If you discover that the Windows Update has offered the latest update to your PC, you will see a displayed like “Feature update to Windows 10, version 21H1” section below the section of “View optional updates” link. For you to install the update, just tap the “Download and install” link.

3. If you did not see this option, then maybe Microsoft have not yet offered it to your PC through the Windows Update. Or, your PC may have already installed the update. Here is how you can check which version of Windows 10 you have installed already.

4. Simply tap the "Download and Install" under the Feature Update section.

How You Can Force an Upgrade to the May 2021 Update

1. If you want to start an upgrade right now, you can do so with the Microsoft’s Update Assistant tool. Simply head to Microsoft’s Download Windows 10 page and then tap on the “Update Now” button to download it.

2. If there is a latest version of Windows 10 available in this case, the version 21H1, the updater will then offer it to you. You will see a message display like this “This PC is running version 20H2. The latest version is 21H1.”

Warning: Note that by using this tool, you are skipping the Microsoft’s slow rollout process and also increasing the risk that you will encounter bugs on your PC that may otherwise have been fixed before this version gets to your hardware for automatic update.

3. Tap the “Update Now” button to install the new update on your PC.

If you have encountered a bug when you have installed, you can also uninstall the update and go back to the old version of your Windows 10 from Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. However, this must be done within the first ten days after you have installed the update.
