Ecomtent, an innovative AI startup transforming ecommerce search with advanced technology, has raised $850,000 in pre-seed funding. The round was led by MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF), with additional support from Techstars x eBay Ventures, C-Suite Angels from the retail sector, and senior leadership from the tech industry.

Founded in 2022 by Max Sinclair and Timur Luguev, Ecomtent is poised to redefine how sellers and retailers prepare for an AI-driven future in ecommerce search. Sinclair, formerly with Amazon where he played a pivotal role in launching Amazon in Singapore and Amazon Grocery across the EU, and Luguev, a PhD and Postdoctoral Researcher in machine learning, have combined their expertise to create a platform that generates both visual and written content optimized for AI-powered search. This innovation addresses the inefficiencies of manual content creation and alleviates pressure on internal content teams and external agencies, significantly speeding up the process and enhancing scalability.

CEO Max Sinclair highlights the imminent changes in ecommerce, stating, "Ecommerce is about to change fundamentally. Generative AI will completely transform how consumers shop online, with conversational-style search poised to become the new norm. The current best SEO practices will look completely outdated in just 12 months. Long-tail keyword matching is dead, and the future will be about matching customer intent across both written and visual assets."

Ecomtent has already made a notable impact, completing successful pilots with major retailers, including two with annual revenues of $11 billion and $14 billion, respectively. These achievements have established Ecomtent as a key player within the Amazon Seller and Amazon Agency communities. The company's patent-pending technology, recently accepted by the USPTO, has demonstrated the ability to boost conversion rates on product listings by up to 30% through AI-generated content.
