This is the 7th Pay Commission, also known as the 7th CPC. Because of this, UPSC students are attracted as the salary/pay scale of all officers will be the same based on their posts. As per the 7th Pay Commission, the salary of IAS officers also includes (DA, TA, and HRA). The chart given below shows the salary of IAS officers of various ranks.

Traveling Allowance (TA)

An IAS officer gets government accommodation at a concessional rate. Even an IAS officer can book a room in Rajya Bhavan whenever he comes to Delhi. The government provides many other travel allowances to the IAS officers.

If an IAS officer is provided with a vehicle by the government, they cannot claim a traveling allowance.

Medical allowance

  • Medical expenses are also part of the salary of an IAS, medical expenses are reimbursed by the employer to the employee when the employee incurs any medical expenses.
