How to Share and Print Photos using the iPhone Photos App

iPhone, Photography.

Are there any pictures you've taken with your iPhone that you'd like to share with others? These are the steps to take in order to share, print, or post photos taken with the Photos app:

1. To open the Photos application, press the button.

2. Navigate to the Photos app and your albums to find the photo you'd like to share with your friends and family.

3. If you're viewing photos in the Album view, tap Select in the upper right corner. The arrowed box should be selected if you are using iOS 6 or earlier.)

In the event that you're looking at a single photo that takes up the entire width of your screen, skip to step 5.

4. By tapping on each image you want to share or print, you will be able to checkmark it.

5. Select the appropriate action button (the box-and-arrow icon at the bottom).

6. A variety of options for sharing and printing your selected photos are available from the pop-up menu. Here are a few illustrations:

  • Mail opens the photo(s) in the Mail application that comes pre-installed on your computer, allowing you to send them via email.
  • You can then address and send the text message that was created by Messages, which includes the photo that was attached.
  • AirDrop allows you to wirelessly share photos with other Apple users who are in close proximity.
  • The image is automatically integrated into Twitter (if you have the app installed), allowing you to tweet directly from the image.
  • Copy makes it simple to copy and paste an image into another application.
  • It also includes print, which allows you to print photos directly from your iPhone to a printer that is compatible with Apple products.

7. The next step is determined by the option you selected in step 6. In most cases, you'll be taken to a new app where the photo you selected has already been imported into it.

8. In the case of selecting Print, you must now choose the printer to which you want to send the print job, select any available options, enter the desired number of copies, and then tap Print.
