How To Share Lyrics of Song From Apple Music on Your iPhone or iPad

The Apple Music has some nifty features including the ability to share song lyrics. You do not need to take a screenshot of the song lyrics any longer when you want to share to social networks because Apple has made it very easy to share.

This feature of the Apple Music, first introduced in the iOS and iPadOS 14.5, will only work with the songs that have time-synced lyrics in your Apple Music. Song lyrics that are stored in a text format will not automatically scroll as the song is playing. For you to take a screenshot is still the best way if you want to share lyrics that don’t scroll.

It will go without saying anything like the lyrics sharing feature won’t work with songs that do not have lyrics at all on the Apple Music

Getting Started

1. Open the “Music” app on your iPhone or iPad and start to play any song. If the song opens in the mini-player, click it once to expand the window.

2. Click the mini player to expand it

3. Click the lyrics icon in the bottom-left corner.

4. Click the lyrics icon

5. Next, you have to click and hold any paragraph of the time-synced lyrics that is displayed on your screen.

6. Click and hold the lyrics you want to share

7. The share sheet will open up. The top portion will display to you the lyrics you have just selected. Apple Music has a limit of sharing, just 150 characters of lyrics, and it does not allow you to choose multiple parts of the same song. If you like both the first and the last line of any song, you will not be able to share them together.

8. Click just a few lines of the song’s lyrics. The selected parts of the lyrics will appear and will be highlighted and the unselected parts will just remain black-and-white.

9.  Click the lines you want to share

10. If you feel like to undo a selection, click the line again.

11. Alternatively, you can still scroll up or down to different parts of the lyrics and then select it. A pop-up message will appear that will ask you if you want to replace the current selection of lyrics. Simply tap “Replace.”

12. Tap Replace

13. When you’re done choosing the lyrics, select one of your contacts from the Share sheet or you can select the Messages app to share the lyrics.

14.Tap Messages

15. Once it has been sent, your contact will see a play icon, which they can now use to play the song.

16. Tap the play icon to start playing the song on Apple Music

17. You can also quickly share lyrics to Instagram by choosing the Instagram app from the Share Sheet.

18. Tap Instagram

19. This will automatically create an Instagram story that you can share with your followers on Instagram. You don’t need to give a permission for Instagram to access your microphone or camera to post Apple Music lyrics to your stories.

20. Apple Music lyrics shared to Instagram Stories

21. Your followers can choose the “Play on Apple Music” link that is found at the top of your Instagram Story to play the song on the streaming service.

22. Click Play on Apple Music

23. They’ll have to click “Open Apple Music” from the pop-up message for the song to start playing.

24. Click Open Apple Music

If this feature piqued your interest in the Apple Music, you can also try to add your own music to the streaming service.
